Okay, so I'm the "alien" and my husband is the petitioner. I filled out all the forms for the I-130 because my handwriting is much neater than his. At the bottom of the last page there is a section that says "Signature of person preparing this form, if other than the petitioner." ..Do I have to sign this, right? Am I allowed to have prepared the form? I want to be 100% sure of this before I send this all off!

Cheers :]

Nope, you do not have to sign there, that box has mostly to do with using a third party to prepare the form, as in a Lawyer.

As for being allowed to prepare the form, sure you can.

One more note, The I-130 and G-325A PDF forms can be filled out on a computer, and then printed off, no hand writing needed other than the petitioner signing the forms.

I filled out ALL our forms to K-1 things including the affidavit of support. I used the computer to fill most of them out and when something didn't fit in the line on the computer I would print it out and then fill it in, just had my husband sign that he filled it out lol ( i'm the green card holder ) My husband didn't want to fill anything out because he deals with forms all day already. Fine with me, made it easier to check for mistakes anyway with one person doing all the paper work! =)

Hello. I have a question. I have a minor child for whom I have full custody according to my country legislation (Romania). I want to know if in order to get the green card for my child, the immigration authorities would require the consent of my son's father?

Thanks for help!

If doing CR-1, an additional I-130 needs to be filed by step parent for the CR-2 visa.

As for consent, many consulates want to have this before they will issue a visa to a minor. Also depends on divorce and if former spouse gave up custody. If divorce doc indicates giving up custody then this should be sufficient for most consulates.
