question about getting visa returned (DHL vs canadapost)

I've been reading a bunch of conflicting information about getting your visa back after it gets approved at your final interview.

During the interview schedule email i received, they had me pick a location where they would send a DHL package with my visa/paperwork afterwords, and the closest location to toronto was brampton ontario so i picked that (but it never asked for my home address).

However i've read lots of threads about people bringing their own canada post (xpresspost) pre paid envelopes to the interview. So which is it??

I'm going for a CR1 visa interview if that makes a difference.

They do not take the pre-paid envelopes anymore. The new system is only DHL apparently. Some people have posted as trying recently and they refused to take the envelopes. The DHL is to be picked up by you it does not get delivered to your home.

The pre-paid envelopes were horrible. I got mine back ripped open with stuff all over our front porch and they never even asked for signature. No idea why it was like that but many other people had similar problems with theirs. I wouldn't trust pre-paid Canada post ever again with my passport and personal documents.

That happened to my prepaid envelope too, even the envelope inside was torn open, which it can't be. I had to pay to have everything sent back to Vancouver and pay to have it all sent back to me AGAIN after they made sure everything was still there! I was not impressed with Canada Post! I would have preferred DHL.

I actually had good luck with the Canada Post Xpresspost envelope when they were still accepting them. I was lucky to receive it intact at my door three days after my interview. The closest DHL location to my Canadian residence would have been over an hour away!
