Will I be needing the beneficiary's Police Clearance Certificate myself?

Should I have my spouse mail me a copy of her Police Clearance Certificate or is that certificate only needed by her? I am not really sure if the NVC will ask me for this or not.

Looking at the NVC Process Flowchart it shows that the applicant is the one who submits the IV package to the NVC. So I guess she only needs the Police Certificate.... am I right?

She needs to request it, and then send it to you for you to mail in the IV/AOS package.

Can I ask her to mail me a copy instead of the original or does the NVC only accept the original? Because I heard that she will also be needing a copy of the Police Certificate once she is called for the interview.

You will need an original. In the UK, if you order a Police cert, you can order extra copies at the same time, but you will need all originals for NVC.

Im sure the police cert sent to the nvc is forwarded by the nvc to the consulate prior to the interview.

Thanks for clearing that up for me because I did not know that the NVC needs only original documents. Does this also go for my marriage certificate, I mean do I have to send in my original marriage certificate?

And if possible, do you think I should ask her to try and get 2 original copies of the Police Certificate(one for me and one for her)?

it is advisable - as then you have a spare- and it can be cheaper too. Yes, they want copies - or at least certified copies of all civil documents.

Did you mean to say originals instead of "copies"? Sorry, I'm kind of confused again. Do I have to send in my original marriage certificate?

As recommended, yes get a second original. My wife was at her interview and they said they could not find her clearance in the packet. Luckily she had a complete second set of all her documents.

I just spoke to my wife and she said that she will only be able to get one original copy

She said that she will send me the original and keep a copy of it for her interview
