The Maldives are beautiful. Everything that the pictures show...and more.

However, after 6 days on one small island half a mile by 200 yards I was getting stir-crazy...Really, I was!

There's only so much lying in the sun I can do (an hour...tops) and as I don't swim, snorkel or anything, there's only walking around the island once an hour to keep one 'busy'.

Neil.

I can hear you.. if there's no trip like fishing, snorkel, diving or anything like that i'd say.. 3-4 days is a good number for me there. I didnt have a chance to go there while i was in Sri Lanka because my sis was busy with her job she hadnt time to take me there :crying: (my sis was a diplomat there.. now she's in Canada)

But it's my dream vacation anyway..

Ahhh, this looks so nice and relaxing, canoeing on Lake Louise:

Lake%20Louise%20Canoeing%20TB_jpg.jpg

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

umm... I'd LOVE to go there... I LOVE to travel and I just cant choose between hot, sand beach or cool lake mountain and snow.. I LOVE IT ALL!!!!!!

Well since I just got back from a wonderful trip to England, and hubster is still visiting, I can't help but still be dreaming of Yorkshire (Hi Saturnman! *waves* ;) ) Walking the heather-covered moors, in the clean, crisp, fresh air.....there is just something peaceful to the soul about it.

But my feet are itchy and I'm also dreaming about our trip to India in less than 4 months... with things to see like the Taj Mahal, safaris to go on at Ranthambore National Tiger Reserve, and the beaches of Goa...just to name a few things on the agenda....

:D Ilkley Moor... but of course!!! Oh, great, now I'll have that song in my head AGAIN...heehee... Each trip makes me feel like Yorkshire is my second home...thankfully someday it will be. Ooooh, and I snuck some REAL Wensleydale cheese from the creamery itself, back home in my suitcase...bwahahaha

Have a nice trip home. Breathe some of that good air for me.

This is a bad bad thread!! :crying: j/k :D Anyone who has gotten the chance to travel a lot in life since young, you really don't know how blessed/lucky you are.

I've been thinking so much lately about how much I want to see Italy, Czech Republic, and many other European countries. I don't know when I'll get to see any of it. It could be years away. It's just too expensive. I'm in a whiney mood about this. Most of my future vacations will be to visit family in India, which is cool, but I want to go to Europe. I want I want I want.... :crying::P

In the US I want to visit the Grand Canyon and other midwest things as I've never been west of Illinois.

Also, I've been hot enough living in Florida almost my whole life so I don't care a lot about tropical Islands and such, altho many are pretty. I'd rather go to a non-tropical place.

I'd be on a road trip throughout Europe, definitely. Amed and I talk about it all the time, and we're determined to do it within the next couple of years. Get a car, start in Paris, go through the Loire Valley, into the Pyrnees, down to Provence, across into Italy, up north through Switzerland, then Austria, and somehow make our way to Spain and Portugal, too.

Man, I have go to stop daydreaming and get back to work!

even tho I have done that already... I would love to do all that again.. so yours would be my vacations right now... most part of it spent in Italy that I simply love (L)
