Driving a rental in Death Valley. Although I'd wait till November to do that. Kinda hot out there right now.

You gotta find a picture, I want to daydream about it....

Not everyones idea of a 'vacation', it's barren and desolate. But I like the quiet and the solitude.

Have you driven on the I-40 between Cali and Arizona - runs parallel at times with the old Route 66? It's barren and desolate, but you won't die of heat stroke.

No I have not but I will keep the idea in mind for my next trip to the SW.

here's my DREAM vacation... Maldives..

Yes! I've always wanted to go the the Maldives. When I was living in Italy, all the rich folk would vacation there.

So beautiful!

I would be a on a boat, island hopping through Greece.

<sigh>

Oh, yeah. That's also on my list! I have a friend who just got back from doing that and her pictures were absolutely unbelievable.

Ahhh, this looks so nice and relaxing, canoeing on Lake Louise:

Been there and it's gorgeous...Just like that !

Just wish I'd had time to do the canoe.

Ah well; another excuse (as if I needed one) to return, some day :) Neil

here's my DREAM vacation... Maldives..

The Maldives are beautiful. Everything that the pictures show...and more.

However, after 6 days on one small island half a mile by 200 yards I was getting stir-crazy...Really, I was!

There's only so much lying in the sun I can do (an hour...tops) and as I don't swim, snorkel or anything, there's only walking around the island once an hour to keep one 'busy'.

Neil.

St Maarten/St Martin......Half Dutch, half French. A great combination :)

I personally prefer the chic-ness of the French side and will be revisiting in December, to introduce my wife to this lovely island :)

Well since I just got back from a wonderful trip to England, and hubster is still visiting, I can't help but still be dreaming of Yorkshire (Hi Saturnman! *waves* ;) ) Walking the heather-covered moors, in the clean, crisp, fresh air.....there is just something peaceful to the soul about it.

But my feet are itchy and I'm also dreaming about our trip to India in less than 4 months... with things to see like the Taj Mahal, safaris to go on at Ranthambore National Tiger Reserve, and the beaches of Goa...just to name a few things on the agenda....
