Currently, we are processing our petition and waiting for the NOA2. I put the US General Consulate in Abu Dhabi UAE to process my visa application once the petition is approved as I am presently residing and working here. My concern is that when I get the approval of my visa, I want to go home to the Philippines to see my family and will start my journey from there going to the USA (i.e. Philippines to USA). Can I do that or do I have to return to UAE and will start my journey?

Another thing, can I start my vaccination even if there's no assurance when our petition gets approve? Will physicians entertain mw even without any doctor's appointment? I'm asking this because I've read that vaccinations are needed for AOS processing. Is this correct?

I highly appreciate your feedback/s if there's such rule like that.

Thanking you in advance.

I see no reason why you would be required to return to the UAE after you visit 'Pinas. You can simply fly to the U.S. from 'Pinas.

As for the vaccinations, I'm guessing that you could complete them at any time before your required medical exam. However, the fee for your medical exam includes the vaccinations, so why not wait and complete the vaccinations during your medical exam. Maybe you should check with the U.S. Embassy in UAE to make sure.

If you were completing your medical exam at St. Lukes in Manila, you would simply complete your vaccinations on the second day of the medical exam. I'm guessing that it's the same way in the UAE. I hope someone who has experience in the UAE will chime in.

When you are in the U.S., you will need to find a civil surgeon in your local area to transcribe your vaccination information from your DS-3025 to form I-693. You will get the DS-3025 after your medical in the UAE. The civil surgeon will fill up the I-693 and seal it in an envelope. When you send in your AOS papers, you will include the I-693 in its sealed envelope with your AOS packet.

I hope this helps. Good luck with your visa journey. :star:

Hi! This is also my dilemma right now. Going home to PI and then travel from PI to US once visa is approved. Knowing PI airport regulations/staffs being so strict, im afraid there will be problem going out of PI. As to the vaccinations, my family can't find any of my vaccination history so im planning to have a blood titer test here before the approval or the medical just to check all the immunizations i received. In that case, i can present a history or proof to the medical examiner that i received or that i am immune to the vaccines required.

Goodluck to you! :)

You will probably be required to complete the CFO seminar and be required to have a CFO sticker in your passport before you are allowed to leave 'Pinas. You might want to check into this.

Also, the people who have their medical at St. Lukes are not required to submit a vaccination history when they have their medical exam. I hope it is the same in the UAE when you get your medical exam.

If you don't have your vaccination history when you go to St. Lukes, they simply give you the vaccinations you need, whether you need them or not. Then, when you apply for your AOS in the U.S., you need to have a civil surgeon transcribe your DS-3025 vaccination information from St. Lukes onto form I-693. The civil surgeon will seal the I-693 in an envelope and you will submit the envelope along with your AOS packet. That's all there is to it.

Best wishes for a smooth and speedy visa journey! :)

no issues flying from PI with ur visa approved/obtained from UAE. (got my visa fr uae and left from PI to US)... the hassle thou is you have to go through the CFO seminar

in UAE medical... its best if you have your vaccination history for comparison. i brought with me my vaccination history since birth and it helped them to see what i had or needed. And if you have time... you can complete your MMR (shots given 2x with months interval) before u leave for US since its so much cheaper outside the US. THe one who will sign for ur I-693 for AOS later will accept any proof of vaccination. If you have done/completed your vaccination, there's no need to do it again anyway. (had my medical @ THe Polyclinic-Deira,Dubai..done in 3 hrs with the result in hand)

Hi JSVP08! I have done my medical at Mideast Polyclinic in Diera. First, I thought that's the polycilinic you are referring to. The embassy just gave 4 lists of clinics for medical and it's one from Al Ain, Abu Dhabi and 2 here in Dubai which are New Medical Center and Mideast Polyclinic. My medical cost 950 dirhams + 150/vaccine shots. I was only required to have DTaP vaccine. And the result is the next day.

Hi SimplyMacy. When you went for medical, did you bring your vaccine record when you were a child? Thinking that's why you had only one vaccine. Thank you.

Yes I did! But I only brought with me the certification of the vaccines that i received when i was a baby so the doctor is asking why they didnt put the date of when i received the vaccines. He just decide to give me DTaP and other vaccines were not suitable to my age. I am 29. All the best for you!

Hi Macy! Just wanna know if I can do my medical exam anytime upon receiving my packet 3 and 4. I have my interview on July 31. How many months valid for the medical exam? I have heard 3months, 6months and 1year. I don't know which one is true. I guess in each country the validity varies. Please reply as soon as you get this. Thank you.

I forget how long the medical is good for. It's either six months or a year. However, when you get to the U.S. and file for your adjustment of status, the civil surgeon who transcribes your DS-3025 onto your I-693 won't care when you had your medical. At that point, I doubt if the USCIS will care either. Some people here on VJ report that they don't even submit the I-693 with their adjustment of status case...and they still get approved!!!

Chym, yes doctors will give you the shots you need but you will first supply them your past vaccination records in order for them to determine what vaccines to administer. Sadly it will be a waste of time and money as US embassies require visa applicants undergo medical exam by a doctor certified by the US Public Health Service.

If your papers are being processed in Abu Dhabi follow the instructions contained in their website.

Yes you can go home and depart from there, it will be best to go visit your family before coming to the US.

Good luck!
