How long does the NVC usually take after USCIS approves the case? And....

Hello everyone,

I am a US born Citizen and I filed for my Non-US Citizen wife and received NOA1 alert email on Sept 16, 2010. My question is, once my case is approved at USCIS, approximately how long will it take at the NVC?

Another question I have is for my brother. My brother is also a US Born Citizen and he received his NOA1 alert email on Sept 2, 2010. He just received his USCIS I-130 approval email on Jan 12, 2010. He wants to know exactly how long will it take for him to get the actual NOA2 hard copy in the mail along with the next forms?

You will want to look at the guides if you have not already. There is a lot for you to do at the NVC stage.

^^Agree with the above posters. Read through the guides listed below and DO NOT wait for snail mail from NVC, it will only slowly you down considerably.

Thanks for the reply... I am ready to read the guidelines, can someone please point me to in the right direction? My brother got an email from the USCIS saying that his case was approved and is on the way to NVC. What can he do now instead of waiting for the snail mail to arrive? I want our process to go as quickly as possible.

As the other poster said, do not wait for the snail mail NOA2....if I were you, I would be calling the NVC daily to see when your case gets there...it will save you a lot of time.

Hello, I see in your timeline that you did not receive an email for the NOA2 nor did you status change on the USCIS website, then how did you come to know that your I-130 was approved?

What should my brother do while he waits for his NOA2 hardcopy to come?

Don't panic - approvals after 6/16 or later have not yet been received at NVC.
