Dear All,

I have a question for your input. Last month I asked US Consulate in Guangzhou to reschedule my visa interview and wished it could be in early March. They replied that I will be informed when a new interview date is set. Till now I have not heard from them. We are doing IR1 electronic processing. Now I am wondering

1) US Consulate in Guangzhou will send me package 4 by Email or by Mail?

2) Will they consider my request and try to put visa in early March? If so, will I hear from them soon, 4-6 weeks before the interview date? Should I contact them again at certain point?

Thank you very much.

EP? Packet 4 via email.

EP? Talk with NVC, not GUZ IV, for 'setting appointment date.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I received Package 4 through email from NVC in December. However the given interview date does not work for me. In their letter, it says if I wanted to reschedule interview date I need to contact the consulate, which is what I did. I think I should expect a new package 4 from Guangzhou consulate with new interview date. So I am wondering how and when I will hear from Guangzhou. Maybe I should contact Guangzhou Consulate? Thanks.

ok - thanks for filling me in with the rest of the information.

sorry, once the appointment date is set at NVC for GUZ IV -

GUZ IV handles any reschedules.

do you know the email portal web address for GUZ IV? let me know, if not.

also - DoS Hotline (IN USA) can tell you about yer appointment date (# in my profile) so if you call them, and it's set for some other date, then GUZ IV has rescheduled you - but haven't gotten the packet 4 in the mail to you, yet.

any postal address issues? you did the GUZ IV Packet 3 supplemental form, right? it should have taken yer current address (since October 2010).

usually GUZ IV schedules in batches, anywhere from 25 to 45 days 'out' - so if today was a scheduling day - does 45 days hit 'march' yet, or not? if not - then for now - keep bugging GUZ IV via the email portal thingie, keep checking the DoS Hotline to see if any change in appointment date -

and

Good Luck !!

wei - update yer timeline over at http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=93419 - xie xie !

Thanks a lot for the suggestions.

I think "Guangzhou email portal web" you mentioned refers to http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn//immigrant-visa-unit-question.html. I used it to send an interview reschedule request. It has been about a month since then.

Mailing address is not an issue. Because we are doing electronic processing, I just think maybe Guangzhou will send me new package 4 by email like NVC did. Whatever by mail or email, hope to hear from Guangzhou soon. Maybe I should be a little bit patient and wait till the end of this month. As you indicate, it has not reached 45 days yet.

Could you please tell me DOS hotline number? Thank you for your time.

1. yup - that's the right portal url to use - but since it's been a month - bug them each day until you get the answer (send in new email each time)

2. GUZ IV will not email you anything. It will come in via postal mail - so recheck yer GUZ IV Supplement P3 form - make sure the address you put there, is the address where you are receiving postal mail.

3. No, will not tell you the DoS Hotline # - instead - click my photo, study the panel on the left, after - you'll see the DoS Hotline # there.

you are the PRC person, right?

sometimes - GUZ IV responds 'quicker' to the USC, if the USC sends off the email (IP addresses are tracked, la)

so - suggest to yer USC spouse to make an email into the email web portal, soonish? xie xie !
