I've heard a lot of people talking about various local service centers, but I thought that we all send the petition to the USCIS in Dallas? At what point does the service center come in?

Our Timeline:

April 2003: We "met" online through a mutual friend.

March/April 2004: He visited me in California and we hit it off, but didn't want to do a long-distance relationship.

July 7, 2009: We got back in touch with each other.

April 15, 2010: My previous relationship ended and we decided that he would come visit me again and see where things went.

May 25 2010: We saw each other again for the first time in six years!

June 23, 2010: We decided to try a relationship.

November 8, 2010: We got engaged!

January 3, 2011: I began to assemble the I-129F packet

March 14, 2011: Mailed out the I-129F packet

March 16, 2011: NOA-1

May 31, 2011: NOA-2

June 13, 2011: NVC received our approved I-129F

June 15, 2011: NVC approved the I-129F and sent it to London

July 1, 2011: He mailed the completed Packet 3 in

July 15: His medical exam

July 29: We called the consulate and got his interview date

September 6: His interview - approved!

September 25: He entered the U.S. with his visa

November 18: WE GOT MARRIED!

The main places that actually work the petition are in California ( CSC) and Vermont (VSC) Tx just takes them all in and sends them to where they think is fastest.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

No everyone does not send their petition to Dallas. Depending on where one lives is what determines where the petition will be sent. If you look at guides for k-1 it will tell you where you send your petition based on where you live. I live in Florida so I send my k-1 petition to the Vermont Service Center. At the Vermont Service Center is where my petition will be approved or denied. Mine was approved and sent to the NVC. National Visa Center. From there they sent my petition to the US embassy in Kingston, Jamaica. My fiance then recieved packet 3 from the US embassy in Kingston, Jamaica. From there we sent in what they wanted beck to the embassy, and we are now waiting for packet 4. In packet 4 we will recieve an interview letter.

Actually, all petitions are now sent to a Lewisville Lockbox which accepts the payment - they are then forwarded to the service center which services the state the petitioner resides. These are either the service centers in California, Vermont or Dallas.

Can someone further confirm this??

The instructions clearly tell everyone, whether living abroad or in any state in the US, to send the I-129F to the Dallas Lockbox for USPS or a Lewisville Lockbox for Courier deliveries. From there, they get routed to a specific service center. Once the petition gets routed, the petitioner will get an email telling them which center their application went to. People keep track of which center their petition is at so they can get a better idea of how fast their type of petition is moving at their center. Good luck.

The requirements have changed since you (and I) filed. Check the latest I-129F instructions at the USCIS website. All I-129F petitions now go to the Dallas Lockbox facility first.
