Hi all,

It's been a while since I've posted...because I was waiting for good news before I came back. Unfortunately, we still don't know anything! After my husband's interview on Nov 4th, we were put into administrative processing and told that if we hadn't heard from anyone in 60 days that we could contact them. I assumed that he would be here WAY before that time was up, but here we are, over 60 days from the interview.

Both my husband and I have emailed and called the embassy in Senegal. Our emails haven't been answered and no one can really tell us anything when we call.

I am getting so frustrated and I really don't know what else to do. I was looking on uscis.gov and found this section: http://travel.state.gov/visa/about/how/how_1463.html

I'm wondering if anyone has called the NVC or anything from this side of things? Do you think they will have any more information?

We're (I'M) starting to go a little crazy.

Thanks for reading!

Why can't we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn't work. Someone would leave. Someone always leaves. Then we would have to say good-bye. I hate good-byes. I know what I need. I need more hellos. Charles M. Schulz

Visa journeys can be unpredictable. You get an interview date and start making plans for being together and then they get derailed by some CO that knows so little about you. You get AP or even worse you get outright denied. You have to regroup and have a new and sometimes unknown clock to being together. AP means they are poking more into your back ground and that can be a long process. They may just be clearing him through the names databases or they may be sending someone out to talk to the neighbors. Whatever it is ,it will come to an end . You are at least on the same path. Joseph and I had the total derail of an outright denial when the CO wanted details of my classified work in order to give him a visa. So my dreams went from being reunited to starting out again at the back of the line. It was awful at the time but now it is a story of our history. In the big scheme of things this is only a small bump in the road.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Dear rafetratorop,

Hi I have been on VJ for while now and wanted to reply to you because I know how you are feeling. Just wanted to share some information with you. I went through the same thing.........After 120 days of being on AP you can put in a request through the NVC office to the security office to find out what the hold up is. Once they put in for the inquiery the check will be complete in a week and then forwarded back to the embassy. This happened to me....I put in a request on Feb. 18th of 2008 and my husband with me on march 13th of 2008 right here in the stats.....You can look back in the older posts on page 90 under the name moon1968 and find my origanl post....I hope this helps you.....

My husband (then fiance) was put on AP for 8 months before he was denied and then we had to start from scratch again, but this time we got married to address the reason for the K1 denial. Hopefully your SO's AP will be shorter. But, I'm sorry to tell you that even the intervention of your Congressman or making formal inquiries after 120 days cannot always hasten the AP. It helped Moon68, but it didn't help us. Trust me...been there, done that. You can definitely try that if the AP lasts more than 4 months, but there is no guarantee. All you can do is wait for them to do their job and then they will contact the beneficiary to come back for a follow-up interview when they're done.

I wish you both the best.

Thanks guys.

We have been calling and emailing like crazy...I finally called the State Dept to see if they knew anything. They basically told me that we just have to wait. Which I knew...but I'm just so tired of dealing with all of this.

Hope everything is going well on your end.
