Wrong case number in cover letter

My fiance sent out packet 3 to London and in his cover letter he put down the case number on the NOA and not the London one. Will this case a delay? We are already late in sending out packet 3 because we never received a letter from London. I called and they said they were going to send out another letter to him saying that if they don't get the paperwork soon then they will cancel the visa. I am so stressed right now.

London will see the case number does not start with LND and be able to figure out that you put down the wrong number. I don't know if making a mistake will make that big of a difference. I've never heard of a letter threatening to cancel the petition. They can't cancel the "visa" as you said because he doesn't have one to cancel yet.
