Why a 3rd Biometrics Appointment?

After submitting our package for AOS, everything has been moving as expected and smooth. First we got the appointment to the Alexandria VA support office for biometrics, the we got the work permission and parole paper work later. We got the biometrics done, and were surprised to see a second letter to return to the same service center. We returned and took the finger prints again, and left after a quick visit. and NOW We just got our 3rd appointment letter 4 days after we completed the second appointment. The third letter was dated mailed before we had even completed the 2nd appointment, and the "notice date" (upper right box) was before we completed the 2nd appoint, and the other oddity is that the 3rd letter does not contain our application number or the "MSCXXXXXXXXXX" barcode at the bottom.

Does anyone know what is going on?

We plan on going for attempt #3, but this seems unusual..

A phone call to the 1-800-375-5283 was absolutely worthless..

Try contacting the FBI to see if the fingerprints were sent successfully to the USCIS electronically. The number is 304-625-5590. I am not sure if you have an A number, but I know that you usually need that information along with date of birth, etc. for them to give you just that info. Give them a call and see what they tell you.

All the best to you.

Thanks the phone #. Unfortunately that phone number references another phone number to call, now that they do not answer inquiries to FBI/USCIS phone numbers. Of course the calling the number that they leave on the message, it also leaves a message saying phone inquiries are no longer answered, and to go to www.fbi.gov . I will continue on to the third biometrics and try to get an answer at the service center.

Thanks for the help. If anyone else experiences this please let me know if you learned anything

Call 1-800-375-5283 .. And ask the first person to transfer you to the next level/immigration officer. If they wont do it, then keep asking they'll have to. Be careful, I deal with the immigration officers weekly. Their not to nice needless to say, just give them respect and kindness or they will for sure hang up on you.

Your welcome in advance!

I got the second biometrics just now. It said the FBI was unable to process my fingerprint card. I guess it's fault of the one who took my fingerprint last time since I asked him a lot of times if everything was ok because I didnt wanna come back again for that. Now really I'll have to come back again. I'm sick of this whole process already:(

I had mine taken twice for AOS - and neither attempt was successful. They ended up sending me an RFE for police records from where I'd lived in the US. Once we supplied that, my AOS got approved.

Heading to my ASC appointment for ROC in a week - let's see how that goes :)

Would you mind if I ask how to get police records in case my second biometrics didn't work. Thank you so much :)
