VSC Comatose Once More

After two weeks of fair progress (I would not go so far as to call it good), the Vermont Disservice Center gave us ZERO approvals on January 13, and so far ZERO for the January 14.

Have they had a relapse of the coma that prevented them from attending to their responsibility to United States citizens like the one they had in the last quarter of 2010?

What is their problem? Why don't they just do what we paid them to do?

Just to play devil's advocate for a moment.

Keep in mind that VJ's users represent maybe 7-9% of the total volume of K-1 applications going through any given service center. So it's entirely possible that they /are/ approving people, just no one from the site. It might also be good to compare the weekly numbers as opposed to daily, to get a better idea of how they are lining up with previously.

Besides, it's a little early to discount both the 13th and 14th. It sometimes takes a bit of time for people to trickle in here and update their information. By Monday, I'd guess most of the active people would have updated and you'll get a better idea of where things really lie.

 no offense, but you seem to be a little bit too obsessive yet frustrated with the waiting time.

Dont forget the statistics are made of people cases on this site and depend on updates from these people, so I wouldnt be too critic - its clear VSC was stupidly and unfairly loaded with other visa applications - but seems they are bck - it wont be any different with making yourself angry every day. just saying...

Not everyone updates their profile and not everyone calls the Customer Service number. + not everyone is a VJ member.

For all we know there are plenty of approvals yet the person doesn't know yet because they didn't get a text/email nor did the hardcopy come in the mail yet.

One day there was 1 approval, I looked 2 days later and there were 3 more added for that day. Just takes time. Will more than likely be several added on by Sunday night.

Edit: Just checked and there is 1 for January 14 right now. Just give it time.

Immigration is not your Right. It is a privilege, if I were them and read your post I would bury your file.

Do yourself a favor and just withdraw your petition if you don't like the system; I'll assume you vote?

al,just hope that you will never have to wait during your process again.i was ten times worse than you,and now im stuck, waiting again, and it makes that five months worth of wait look silly and easy.

Shaking my head at some people and their ignorance :ot:

I was finally approved today and updated my profile within the hour. That's one on the 14th but I agree with others that VJ may not be a very big sample. The agency really needs improved management and communication with applicants.

This is my second trip through the system too. The first one, in 2004, went as smooth as silk, with my NOA2 arriving in only 4 weeks.

Then somebody in government said "Oh My God! A governmental agency actually works! We must break it immediately!"

And boy did they ever!

Shaking my head at some people and their ignorance :ot:

I ignore contemptuous posts, having enough real problems to worry about without concerning myself with posters who deem themselves superior to us.

I understand your pain, not only am I missing my SO very much but we have had to seperate our four children who think of each other like brothers. Its heart breaking seeing them suffer.

But as someone else said, immigration is not our right. We just have to be patient and remember this is the start of a whole new amazing life, which is a gift.

Try and keep as busy as you can and spend some cherished moments with the people you will be leaving once this is all over. Good luck!

Me too.... For some reason the irony and sarcasm seem to take away from the unbearable waiting and frustration, even if only for a moment;)

Al422, I just LOVE your posts !

The irony and sarcasm always make me smile, and it's so great when it's about such a frustrating situation.

Thank you for that !

Immigration is not a right, this is exactly why a K1 visa is NOT an immigrant visa. It's simply a piece of paper allowing you to get married to your love and life partner.

To immigrate and therefore stay in the US, you have to apply for AOS. That is way after the wait for NOA2.

I'm sure you all know that so don't take your frustration out on Al, who was perfectly right : the current wait doesn't make any sense.

Thank you for your concern, but I am the petitioner, and I am not leaving New York, so I will not be leaving anybody behind. Elena is alone in Ekaterinburg, so she will not be leaving anybody behind either.

I realize that some of you think the wait is entirely reasonable and that the system is just fine. To you, happy waiting. Just please chill out on your contempt for those of us who find the wait to be patently ridiculous and the system horribly broken. We are entitled to speak out against this system just like you are entitled to speak out on how great it is.
