I have just applied I - 130 and waiting for I - 797, so that I can apply for K3 visa.

Recently, I am hearing that K3 visa is no more being processed at NVC. I am confused now. So, do I need to apply for my K3 or wait for my CR-1 to be approved.

Please guide me.

Thanks,

Praneeth

K-3 is no longer an option. You will be IR-1/CR-1. Follow the guides for that.

Done for 3 years or 10 years. Haven't decided yet.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

in the philippines it is i guess...cause i just got a letter from usem that i can schedule my interview for my k3 visa i also thought they are not processing k3 visa anymore...Our i-130 and I-129F got aproved almost the same time and thought k3 visa will be automatically closed, but i guess im wrong since i both have case number for both petition...We are pursuing the IV now, it might take couple more months of waiting than the K3 visa but sure will save us money and so wont be dealing applying for aos anymore..Well its your choice if you want to apply for k3 visa or not everybody has the right to choose and has the reason for choosing...goodluck!!have a smooth visa journey

Don't waste your time pursuing a K3. USCIS will tie your I-130 and I-129F together and approve them at the same time. Once the NVC receives both petitions, they will administratively close the I-129F leaving only the I-130 for IR-1/CR-1 active.

No have two separate MNL case numbers? If so, this would be the first report of both petitions being processed through NVC since last February. Please confirm.
