Visa site is offering me an interview a month earlier???

Ok, I logged on to get my reference number for the DHL shipment and the site is offering me an interview date of February 4th when NVC scheduled me for March 2nd....

WHAT DO I DO?????????

HELP!! Can I choose my own date when NVC's already got me scheduled???

Jan 09 - Met online
Jun 09 - Met in person
Apr 10 - Engaged
Jun 5, 10 - Married
July 1, 10 - I-130 Received at USCIS Lockbox
July 8, 10 - Cheque cashed
July 9, 10 - NOA 1
Nov 3, 10 - Touched!
Nov 4, 10 - Touched!
Nov 5, 10 - Approved!! NOA 2 by email

Moving to Canada forum.

Yes if Montreal is indicating they scheduled you earlier, then I would go on that date.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

NO because CR-1 and IR-1 are GIVEN interview dates they do not book their own. The date you are looking at is for k-1s to book on.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

So, in Montreal, there are K1 interview dates available in February? Because I was under the impression getting an interview in Montreal would take almost as long as getting the NOA2...

April, 2009 - We met

May, 2009 - We wooed

June, 2010 - We got engaged, looking forward to a small August 2010 wedding

** Reality Check: K-1 Process**

July 22, 2010 - NOA1

**5 months of patient waiting**

December 29, 2011 - call around for information about delay

January 5, 2011 - RFE notice (first online status update yet!)

January 10, 2011 - RFE Hardcopy

January 13, 2011 - RFE Response acknowledged

January 24, 2011 - NOA2 (at last!!)

February 3, 2011 - application sent from NVC to Montreal (aka. the Abyss?)

March 7, 2011 - Packet 3 sent to me

March 10, 2011 - Packet 3 delivered to Montreal

March 21, 2011 - Packet 4 sent to me

April 5, 2011 - Medical

April 13, 2011 - Interview - approved!

April 20, 2011 - visa in hand

May 9, 2011 - POE (Buffalo, NY)

May 10, 2011 - wedding :)

K-1 visa interviews are booked by the K-1 people when they get their letter from the consul saying they can book their interview. The dates on the website shift quickly. It is what it is when you get your letter telling you to book your interview with them.

I thought I read in the Canada forums that Montreal is now letting IR-1/CR-1 interviewees REschedule their appointments online. As in, you have to wait for them to schedule an interview for you, but once they schedule it, you're free to go online and change the date. I did some searching and couldn't find any of the posts I thought I read, so now I'm not sure.

Can anyone who's gone through the process in the past few months confirm?
