Hey everyone,

I just said goodbye to the one I love after a amazing 3 weeks together. The plan is that I wont see her for nearly 6 months. We both are finishing school and she has a lot of wedding planning to do. We're currently in the K1 proces (September 2010 filers) aiming that our wedding will be on Augst 6. 2011 and me leaving to be with her in July.

Now Im really down with that time that we have to be apart. This is the longest we havent seen eachother, herefor almost 4 months. Now my question is to see how long other people havent seen there beloved ones, hopefully it will make me feel better.

Thank you :)

K1:

09/17/10 - I-129F filed

09/20/10 - Package arrived in Dallas,TX

09/22/10 - NOA1 (e-mail), routed to VSC

We were only together for about a total of 2 months for the entire 2010 :/ It sucks but just focus on the light at the end of the tunnel! ^.^

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

At our longest, we've been apart five months.

Right now, we don't know when the next time we'll see each other is.

I had plans on visiting in April, but that might not be possible.

We'll see.

I've never seen my husband for almost 10 Months already, Long distance is killing us. We only shared two amazing weeks together here in philippines, and since the day he went away, half of my life is missing. I just tried my self to keep busy and as much as possible fighting the depression.

But believe me, as long as the process is done and we will be in our loved ones arms again, this long wait worth it!

stay strong! =)

We were together for only 10 days and then didn't see each other physically until 10 months.

So if we could do that you may be able to do the same.

We did talk on the phone or see each other on Skype almost every day.

It's really not that hard.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

That is your opinion. It's harder for some, easier for others.

We first met in person after 5 months, spent one week together then it was ANOTHER 5 months before we saw each other again. We then spent almost 3 months together and I arrived back in the UK 3 days ago. Although I am seeing him again Valentines week, this has been the most difficult goodbye because we got to see what it was like to be a real couple every day, to wake up together, meet each others friends and family and spend just about every waking moment together. To go from that to being apart again is breaking our hearts. Sometimes it hurts so much you wonder how you are ever going to get through it.

Just keep the communication going, no one who hasn't gone through this realises how hard it really is, but it takes a very special couple to do it. You know if you an get through this the chances of you having a very happy marriage are high. Take it one day at a time and set aside quality time together. Watch movies in sync over the webcam, text and talk on the phone. You will get through this.

Six months is not a lot in the great scheme of things, but it feels like a life time I know. Just remember it will all be worth it in the end. Keep your chin up. Jade :)

Perhaps it wasn't hard for you. Not everybody deals with situations the way you do.

I'm a September filer also. I left Peru mid July and didn't see him for 5 months (went there for the holidays). Now we don't know how long it will be as I don't have any planned trips down there and we are just waiting for the visa. Thanks everyone for your comments. Knowing that I'm a September 2010 filer, is it realistic for us to plan a wedding for August 6th 2011??
