I am shocked to find that alternative medicines are effective in treating illness. Sure, I believe alternative medicines can treat cold and sore here and there. But I just found that alternative medicines can be very effective. Why are you shocked? There's tons of doctors who are DO (osteopath) instead of MD who focus on alternative and holistic medicine as well as treating the body, mind, and spirit. DOs can do everything MDs do.

Specifically, I am shocked that acupuncture is that effective. I am not sure what to believe about alternative medicine overall. I think some alternative medicines do work but a lot do not. After finished watching (5 minutes ago) the Frontline episode on alternative medicine, I am going to explore more on alternative medicine but at the same time, I am going to be extra careful with alternative medicines from now on. Did you know that dietary supplements are not regulated at all? I always assumed that they were under regulated; I did not think they are unregulated by the FDA.
