Eliminating unnecessary risk is not a bad thing. You wouldn't go bareback on a crack hoe, now would you?

I wouldn't go bareback on a crack hoe which means when I know risk is involved I take the action necessary to mitigate that risk.

If I was to jog at night (or any other time for that matter) I would mitigate the risk associated with jogging. I'd stay on the sidewalk where possible, I'd wear reflective clothing and good shoes. I'd stretch before and after - and I'd take my gun.

Slim, you really do make a habit of asking really seriously dumb questions.

You've never associated my dumb questions with peoples' dumb positions?

I wouldn't have to ask dumb questions if people didn't have dumb positions to ask about.

I jog. In fact I jog at night. I am aware of potential hazards inherent in doing so.

Then why don't you mitigate the risk involved?

I guess if you feel a need to arm yourself before going jogging, the question ought to be why bother going out in the first place.

Obviously jogging in Florida is more dangerous than it is around here, and we don't have guns to protect us from marauding teens.

A very good point.

Nothing good happens after midnight. If I load up my Glock and hang around the bus station at 2am, I bet I could shoot me some alkis too

They must be rotten shots in Florida if it takes 8 to kill him - unless the shooter had been waiting for this opportunity for years and was making the most of it

If a woman puts a mini skirt on and jogs in the park at night then that is more risky than a date with Charlie Sheen

The guy was shot in the chest, back and buttocks. Sounds like he ran away but the jogger kept on shooting

Awesome. It would been priceless to see the look on the thugs face when he found out that his easy pickings was about to send him to hell. My prayers go to the jogger for his ordeal he had to be forced to terminate in this way.

indeed. one less criminal to rape or mug.

It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I do not agree or disagree with someone getting shot for trying to mug or attack someone ..but it makes you wonder If this jogger was blind or had never shot a gun before or wanted to kill someone... sounds like a few too many shots, might as well of shot him between the damn eyes and used only one bullet.

However people do react differently under stress and if he was in shock maybe he just kept shooting.

he probably hit him in the chest first - then the guy decided that wasn't a good idea and turned to run. but as it was dark, how would the shooter know the guy turned?

well, he did hit him multiple times. assuming it was so dark he couldn't see him turn around - those few last shots must have been magical?

not magical at all - aim center mass and shoot until target is neutralized (i.e. horizontal)
