Okay gals for the last month or two I have been searching high and low for the perfect dress/skirt to wear to the airport to pick up my husband. I have had absolutely no luck what so ever. I have decided I am going to wear one of my many basic black dresses and jazz it up, not happy about this but it is a last resort.

I have done Dillard's and Macy's repeatedly along with other shops within the mall. My big problem or maybe not so big problem is the loss of weight. Nothing seems to look, fit or feal right anymore. I always thought when I wore 10's and 12's it would be great to shop in the smaller sizes since there seemed to be so many on the sales racks etc. I am finding this not to be the case, having more problems now finding on average size 6. Dresses I really need an 8 because my upper half has not shrunk in one department, problem with these they hang to big off my hips! So guess I need to stick with seperates.

I am so disgusted with shopping and trying on 30 items at a time and nothing fitting properly. So looking for some good online sites or catalog companies. Done the Chadwick, Lerners, Spiegels, Talbots amongst a few other of the main stream companies we all know. So anyone have some better ideas where I might find something? Not into things a 16 year old would wear, but I do like to dress trendy vs sunday best kind of clothes.

Just lost, my closet has become nearly bare in the past couple of years due to weight loss. I do okay in the shorts and tshirt department it is everywhere else that is lacking. :crying: Frustrating I wanna look like a girl!

Hm.... this might be a little beside the point, but for those with a bigger top than bottom a dress with A-line skirt can do a lot for balance and appears to be coming back right now (have I spent too much time window shopping lately?). Wrap dresses are usually quite flattering on most shapes and show off a nice bust and waist. :)

I am sure whatever you are wearing Tim is going to be ecstatic to see you!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

*big deep breath*

Ooooookay.....fashionista on board.

Get thee to JC Penney. Or Jacques Penne' as we call it.

Slim + little waist + womanly bust = perfect for ethnic style.

Find one of those lovely flouncy skirts in a PRINT. Keep the print on the bottom. They've loads of 'em. Past your knee or to the calf. Look for fabric with a nice hand and some texture that flows. Keep it interesting.

Now...a sexy smashing top, long in length and in a solid color. The length and solid color will minimize the bosom. One of those bohemian ones with sparkly stuff on it and cut for cleavage (wear your best push up bra!). You might be able to dangle one of those thick belts over it riding loosely on your hip.

Go for a chunky necklace. Maybe one with a big disc on a silky cord. Natural stones are in and perfect with this kind of outfit. Don't forget the earrings! With your long locks I would do something dangly!

Shoes. Spikey. Sexy. No stockings. No panties either - hee hee.

Exactly what I was looking for minus the no panty bit got new ones today or else he would have divorced me on the spot!

Tried on some of those flouncy skirts, think I am just viewing myself all wrong and need to take a friend or something. In my brain I know my ### can't possibly be that big (still viewing it as it looked 2 years ago) yet in these skirts I looked shorter than I already am and wide at the hips. They are just so girly and I love that, need to just keep searching until I find the right one and maybe the right color. Gonna hit JCpenneys this week then, never really shop in there for myself have done for the kiddos. I know price wise they are good too, so thanks never even thought about it. On my way to look on their website as well. Thank ya Miss fashion diva Rebecca!

Absolutely not used to being thin, and still haven't accepted that I am. Now missing my lil round self! At least the upper matched the lower then! <off to buy ten gallons of Ben & Jerry's>

Charles!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o Nakedness is for later lmao!

Aaaah A-line skirts something I could never look good in before so never thought about them. Another good suggestion! Guess I need to get out of the old way of thinking and try new things now. My black wrap dress was my fall back dress, love the way this thing looks on!

You are correct he likely won't care what I am wearing, should just stick on my pj bottoms and t-shirt, it is what I am most comfortable in!

I had the same problem..... top bigger than the bottom, so what I do is buy to fit the top then take it to a dressmaker and she takes it in to fit at the bottom....

Kezzie

Had thought about this, but hate the idea of paying even more money for something. Maybe I should take up sewing?

Like that one, very colorful I was sticking to monochromatic colors today prolly not a good thing to do.

Their seperates are nice as well. There is a gorgeous handkerchief skirt in there.

If Tim is anything like me, it won't matter at all. I'd be just as happy to see Sian in overalls as I would $200 worth of dress.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Oh I'm having a hell of a time finding a top! BAH! If we were in the store I'd have you one in 5 minutes!!

Don't be afraid to try something different Bethanie! You've got the figure now - go for it!

But I still say no panties......

Well jump in the car and lets go shopping, my mother is no help at all. She is size 14, 55 years old and wants me to wear what she does! Eddie Bauer this and Lands end that, simply not my style. However she did pick out and purchase me a loverly pair of shoes today to match a brown suit I have. http://www.dillards.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...D0&R=SWD205

Still wearing panties! :hehe:

Ahh Larry we women worry to much! Besides I can't afford $200 worth of dress, lets go with $100 for the whole dang lot. If I could have done the $200 range I would have already purchased something!

Here's a very interesting book on tips of what kind of clothes one should wear to make the most of their body structure so you hide the 'imperfections' and focus on your good points: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0297843...ce&n=266239

It's based on a BBC TV show, but I know there's an American verson of it too: http://online.tvguide.com/newsearch/detail...objectid=191886

I've been following many of their tips (I'm short, big butt and almost - almost! - flat chested) and they actually work.

Still wearing panties! :hehe:

Aw go on!

It feels really nice. Especially with a brazilian!!

Do you guys like that, as a Brazilian, I only wear Brazilian panties?
