Hey,

I am 16, from Germany and interested to going to UTD this year. I talked to them and they said that they accept the GED and I am a Junior at the moment. So can I take the GED right now? Because I am still enrolled in school and my school doesn't end till the 24th of May.

I know about the required ACT score and so on. I just need to know if I can take the GED while I am still attending high school.

Thanks for your help :)

I know that a GED is technically an equivalent of a high school diploma, but in all honesty people do look down on it. If you have the opportunity I would just graduate with a regular high school degree. If you want to go to college sooner then you can enroll in a post secondary option and take both high school and college classes at once.

Yes I know that this method is very unorthodox and the reputation is worse but it works just fine for me. So I want to take the GED since the admission is fine with it. So I just need to know if I can take the GED while I am attending high school.??

In very general terms you can take the GED examination at any time. You need to contact the Board of Education in your city/town to confirm the terms for the GED and testing dates (they may require that you take a specific number of classes prior to testing). If you attempting to start a college education, PLEASE make sure that you contact the insitution(s) of interest and find out their requirements for admission.

All the best and good luck.

Ok thank you. The first thing I will do after I come out of school is to call them. I really appreciate your help :)

I already got the requirements for the admission so I just need the GED and then I am on a good way :)
