On the I-485, page one, they're asking for an A#, if any, I can't seem to find one in any document I've received so far (as a K-1), is this correct?

On page two, there's a question: "Non immigrant Visa number", am I supposed to put in the visa number of my K-1 on this field? I'm unsure as to whether it applies as an immigrant or a non immigrant visa, and whether or not there'd be any problems if I entered it in this field and I wasn't supposed to.

Thanks again.

Your A number is on your NOA2 about the beneficiaries name.

The non-immigrant number is the number in red on your K1 visa. The K1 visa is a non-immigrant visa.

There is an AOS thread in my signature that should help you :)

I've already been looking at it quite a bit.

The NOA2, who would've received that, my "sponsor" (the US born Wife) or I? Because I can't find any such thing in my paperwork, she might have it though.

How important is it to add this on if I can't find any record of it? I have a SSN that I've put on the application already.

I have another question too, in the I-485 guide it reads: "B. Based on admission as the K-1 fiancé of a U.S. citizen and subsequent marriage to that citizen Attach a copy of the fiancé petition approval notice, a copy of your marriage certificate, and your form I-94, arrival/departure document."

I have a couple of questions regarding this:

1. What exactly is the fiancé petition approval notice? Is it the letter my wife got, saying they received the initial petition, or the letter that followed with my "envelope" that I got when the K-1 visa was approved. The letter that followed the document envelope was mistakenly taken by immigration at the POE, together with my personal copy of the DS-3025 (I've later been able to retrieve a copy of the DS-3025 from the medical examiner.) If what's needed is the latter, how do I go about getting hold of it or a copy?

2. where it says "a copy of your marriage certificate, and your form I-94, arrival/departure document", does that mean I'm supposed to send in the original I-94 or a copy of the I-94? Just making sure I don't make any time consuming mistakes, I want to be done with all this paperwork already!

Thanks again for the help, mind if I PM/IM you if I have any other quick or trivial questions?

1. The approval notice is the NOA2 that I mentioned has the A number on it. The USC usually receives it and it says something like I-129F petition approved. It's what she would have received before the file was sent to the immigrants country for processing

2. copy of the I-94. The list of required documents is in the thread that I recommended above and it mentions a copy.

And no problem. PM away. Usually threads are better in case the people you PM aren't around enough, or to get varying responses in case the person you're PMing is wrong :) but I usually respond to PM's :D

Thank you ever so much! I found the A number (9 digits, just above my name as beneficiary, right?), I really appreciate the help!

Yeppers! And that's what you need to make a copy of to send with your file. That's your NOA2 or "Notice of Petition Approval" :)

Got a notice that the case is transferred to the California location, for quicker processing?

I've also got a letter for my Biometric appointment, does that mean I won't get an RFE on my Vaccination Supplement (I only sent in the DS-3025)?

Biometric due March 15th.

Thanks again everyone.

It means nothing. You can get an RFE even at the interview.

The Work Authorization (I-730) was approved (quite surprisingly) and I received the card in the mail on Saturday 04/30/11. Surprised I got it as fast, now it's just a waiting game for the interview I guess, and starting to look for jobs (which'll be fun in this economy, lol)

The I-730? I-730 is a "Refugee/Asylee Relative Petition". The EAD(employment authorisation document) is I-765.

Oops :D Yeah I meant the I-765.

Not to worry though, checked the status of my I-485 on the USCIS homepage, and as of today, application is approved, pending ADIT info (which from what I understand means the biometrics? which has already been done).

Hoping the card comes soon.

To anyone who's paying attention to this thread:

Application was approved without an interview (so far anyway, unless that's part of the ADIT too)

I did not have my completed vaccine records transcribed by a civil surgeon (I sent a copy of my complete DS-3025 together with a letter outlining the places in the instructions where it indicates that this can be done.)

Total time line is roughly a year (from my fiance sent in the request for a Fiancé visa) and it's been about two months since I sent in my I-485.

The ADIT stuff is nothing to be concerned about. It's just one of those standard lines. I predict you'll have the card in 2 weeks (and no interview :D) :) Congrats!!
