The Empire fell when other right wingers came in from Germany and the Balkans with bombs and drones and stole everything.

The poor people didn't care to help the rich ones who were getting zapped. It was payback time

The 2% in the USA own most of it and the deluded white middle class who fawn after them and support them, get poorer every year. These camp followers of the people who own the USA will be further abandoned at which time they will switch sides and get on the socialist universal health bandwagon (Medicare)and the socialist Social Security system.

At that time, democrats will examine the voting record of the camp followers and apologists for the 2% and insist they go private for both

I am probably one of the 2% but at least I have a social conscience which is absent in the right wing political spectrum who want to climb on the necks of their fellow countrymen and simply don't care

Its ironic that these very same people are the flag wavers who talk about 'the country' - even though they distrust their fellow citizens and would not waste a fire extinguisher on them if they were on fire if it wasn't going to burn their house

What is 'the country' if it isn't the people ? Is it just a flag ? People go all starry eyed about the USA but what is the USA if it isn't the people ? Black people in Chicago and Haitians in Florida - Arabs in Minnesota. When you mention these communities, the right winger's lips curl - but just what is the USA if it isn't these ?

Why do people join the military to protect the USA, but when you point out that the USA is in fact these communities of US Citizens and not a piece of cloth on a flag pole, they wouldn't do anything to help them or join with them in anything and especially when they are sick or are in need. They just want to hoard their own pie and the devil take the hindermost.

The real patriot is the progressive who believes in america as a land of opportunity where the american dream is attainable by all, regardless of their social standing at birth! I proudly fly the flag and it confuses the heck out of my ex-inlaws that were right-wingers! I think it is a mistake to cede the label of patriot to these military service avoiding chicken-hawks like cheney, gwb, etc.!! They represent the opposite of american idealism!

Welfare is not part of the American Dream, neither is affirmative action unless the American dream is to grow up and be given something you didn't earn with the opportunity you had to do so. Food stamps and WIC are out, no way that is part of anyone's dream. Subsidized housing...have you seen those places? Who dreams of a ghetto? I am against a systme of social welfare that enslaves people and makes them dependent. I wish for INdependence for all which is the only way we will ever have equal opportunity.

The ring wingers go nuts with me when I quote the constitution because they like ownership but they dont like any principles other than 'This is mine you can't have it' - and many of em dont have anything !

I mean my only motives are not envy coz I have mine. Its not fear of being left to die, because if I get sick and the insurance won't pay, I can jump on a plane at Seattle tonight and in the morning I will be in a country which will look after me at any expense and without asking for a penny..

My motive is to try and open the eyes of the other 98% for whom I feel so sorry. My mother was a tea lady in an engineering works and she voted right wing and for the owners who treated her like dirt - so I know the phenomenon of turkeys voting for christmas

What I want for the USA is an extension of what they already have - Medicare, Unemployment pay, and Social Security - so that isn't communism and hardly socialism even - that is more of the things that 90% already say is a good thing.

The people who want a 'ME' society must not realise that basic decency enhances everyone's lives and therefore they can remain selfish while helping a person with a medical need that isn't being treated.

That is why public health like sewers are a social program - because it stops us all suffering. The right wing grudgingly allows sewers to protect their property from effluent produced by poor people, but socialism stops right there

Anyway thank something my income and health care is underwritten by the 400 million socialists in Europe (including Tony Blair etc who the right idolize) - imagine the first world without them.
