Just picked up my passport! 9 days til POE!!

What courier did they use to send the passport? And it arrived in just 3 days?

To everyone: What is the average time from interview to passport in hand?

I do not believe my wife's wait time was average. We had the interview last Wednesday in Montreal and her VISA/passport arrived in Vancouver at DHL on Friday morning...2 days total.

That is awesome for you guys, but I think you're correct, that it's not really average. I've been waiting 8 days, and don't even have a waybill number yet, but I think that's pretty typical. The approval letter has a note on the back that says wait "approximatively" (yes, it really says approximatively) 6 - 7 business days.... so you guys are lucky!

I have a question for you...is there a reference number or does your page say anything? When I checked last Friday, it gave a "reference" number that was 5 letters, followed by 7 numbers. Next to that is said "At Consular Services." I think later in the day it changed to shipped, but the reference stayed the same. I tried using the reference number to track it on DHL.com and nothing would come up.

That was my mistake...I forgot to use DHL.ca. (I'm the USC and forgot to change .com to .ca.) Once I went to that site, I plugged in the "reference" number, and up popped the tracking information showing it was delivered that morning.

If you have anything showing as a reference number, try using that on the Canadian DHL website.

We were pretty shocked it was delivered only two days after the interview. Even the woman who did the interview said it should be shipped this week and we should have it by this Friday, not last.

Thanks, I'll check that out! I'm 99% sure I have a reference ID but not a waybill number. I'll check to see if DHL.ca offers any insight.

I got mine in 3 days but again, not very typical. I was talking to another VJer who had their interview the same day as you and they haven't received their passport either, and as of yesterday, the consulate hadn't even shipped it yet.

Less than an hour after I posted that, I got an email from the consulate saying DHL had picked up my passport, and gave me the waybill number

So, I have now changed my address in the system to come directly to my house!

NVC arranged our interview for next week and paid the fee ($400/person) to NVC. Our interview letter does not mention any other payment but you never know.

Just wondering, what is the acceptable method of payment at MTL? We have Canadian and US credit card. Do we need to take CAD$/US$ cash?

I started getting my 'proof book' done. It has a year of phone records in it...I highlighted any call made to/from my husband, his work, his mother, his brother etc..anything that would be attributed to him. I have pictures from when we were dating, our engagement, wedding, holidays with each other's family and trips we took. I also have copies of my life insurance policy with his name as beneficiary (no bank accounts as of yet). I have cards he has given me, ones I gave him and also ones that were addressed to both of us (thank you cards, invitations etc..) I guess I could include some emails but we talk on the phone more than email or chat (as we both work 9-5 jobs). As for gifts, I don't really know what I would include...I'm wearing the biggest one he has giving me on my left ring finger

Did they even ask for all that evidence of a relationship???

Received an email from DHL today regarding my Visa. Says it should be ready for pick up within the next few days!!!

That didn't take too long!
