Ok..for those of you wondering about my situation. I first and foremost want to say Congratulations to ALL that have been approved. yes the elevator does open to the back and you're not allowed to turn the heck around.

I interviewed on Feb 16,..then I was informed of a paperwork screw up..had to resend a document..been waiting and waiting..as I was expecting my Passport/Visa to be in hand in a week.

So I've been going nuts and finally tonight I'm happy to say that I checked the USAVisaInfo website and there was a waybill #. Shipped out as of this evening at 6:30 pm.

I'm about to puke I'm soo happy and excited. Today marks exactly ONE year that I left my family in the USA..would it have been cool if I could've crossed today..YES..but this is a close second. I haven't seen my wife, step kids and my 3.5 year old son in two months.

Thank you to everyone on this forum and the regular IR1/CR1 forum for putting up with my verbal tirades and crappy moods over the last 7 months.

God Bless You all..enjoy your families as I will mine. My daughter is getting out of the hospital tomorrow as well..so hopefully I'll see her in the next few days and I can harass her about being in Love with Justin Bieber. Tell her that her mom fell for a Canuck and she's just like her mom.

Anyways..there ya go.

For u having future interviews...my wife and I after the approval looked at eachother..it was very anti-climactic. I suppose them saying you're approved and then having to wait...not having that VISA in hand kind of was a buzz kill.

I'm finally excited. ok, I'm done. goodnight.

Hey guys,

I rarely post on here, although you'll find my better half on here daily! ;) lol

So my interview is on March 15th @ 8:30 am. I am taking a bus into Montreal from Toronto (should be fun!...NOT) lol

I think I have everything I need, and have everything all sorted. I have 2 folders. 1 for all my evidence and 1 for all my required documents (medical results, police check, etc....) I too was thinking of just putting it all in a plastic bag and putting my money in my coat pocket. I dont want to even bring a purse!

Thank you to those who have given a detailed description of what to expect at the interview ;) Sounds like my experiance at my medical. Take a number, sit down, get called, get blood taken. Sit down, get called again, get xray. Sit down, get called again, have medical. lol Thanks for the info about the elevators and about when to arrive. ;)

I feel like I'm going to puke, I'm so nervous! lol

Congrats to all who have been approved so far! :)

Vanessa you will be just fine. I always suggest bring as least as you can, but bring everything necessary. My wife didn't bring her purse rather she packed her little lip gloss and things in her jacket pocket, and we carried our documents by hand, but you can also use a shopping bag. You will be fine TRUST ME.

I didn't really :dance:come on VJ yesterday but we were approved!:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

haha I've been waiting 10 months to make that little man do the approved dance!

It was SO EASY, as everyone always says once they leave! It took less than 10 minutes for the actual interview, possibly less than 5. I didn't even take my coat off. They wanted 0 proof of relationship, but eagerly accepted the 2010 tax return rather than 2009 IRS transcripts.

Everyone was really nice, and everything seemed to be as the reviews said it would be!

Although, I will say one thing about the waiting. Everyone seems to be under the impression to get there as early as humanly possible, even if it means waiting outside for an hour in the - 20 Montreal winter. I don't really recommend that. I got there at 7:25, just as the doors were about to be open, and there were only 3 or 4 people ahead of me. Yeah, I got a lower number but I was still the 3rd person of the day to be interviewed, because I'm 99% sure they still call you by the order of your appointment time. So even though there were a few people ahead of me to pay and hand over some documents, I still interviewed before them, and didn't wait outside in the freezing wind for more than 5 minutes. Just my opinion on the matter!

Congrats to the other approved people this week!

Crongratulations CBM!!!!!!

You mentioned that you arrived at 7:25. What time was your appointment?

I'm just trying to calculate my timing. I really don't want to be stuck outside for an hour, but I don't want to be 'late' either. My appointment is at 8:30am. I am staying at a hotel just up the street and I am nervous that I will be stuck at the Consulate for hours! lol I need to check out at noon. (I'm propbably over reacting, and all will be fine! lol)

I learned a mistake from my medical here in Toronto. I was told the doors opened at 6:30am. I got there at 6:15, and there were 3 people waiting outside ahead of me. I thought, no problem! Little did I know that there were 4 other poeple ahead of those 3 that were already inside getting processed :( Clearly, the doors opened a lot earlier! lol

Thanks for the support Matt n Shannon! :)

Thanks for the congrats, everyone!!

My interview was also for 8:30 am, and I was out of there at 8:55 or 9:00 am, even with getting there at 7:25, what may be considered late by VJ standards! haha... That's just my preference though, since I would rather wait a little longer inside, sitting, where it's warm, than wait outside for hours, standing with all my stuff, where it's cold. Seriously, 7:15 would be plenty of time, because it is very organized. I was the very first person to be called for documents to Window 9, then the third person to be called for the interview, because I'm pretty sure I was third in terms of the appointment times. Don't worry about not being done by noon. You will easily be done by noon.

I was there too at my interview that early, but I took the chance even though my appointment was for 10am. I was out of there by 8:30. Since I also sent in all originals during my process with NVC that all they did was give them back and took my fingerprints plus the interview that was for 5 mins and Voila! I could've gotten the letter A card but I let the mother with her daughter in before me because it was -27 degrees at that time.

Just a thought, what was everyones reaction while you guys where in the elevator going down after your approved? I was by myself and I got very emotional that I started to think they might be watching me hahahahaha so silly!
