So, my honey went to get his korean police clearance today. Contrary to other searches that i did he can get it at the korean embassy in manila. The catch is it will take 6 weeks!!!! My suggestion is for those who lived or worked in other countries better start getting your police clearances while waiting for your NOA2. These papers will likely be valid for 1 year anyway at least you have it already.

Try to get police clearances right after getting NOA1. You'd breathe easier with that one thing done, and you can focus on other things. :)

Yeah call after 4 weeks. My wife's was there after 4 weeks, but we had time. I had her go apply for it right after we received NOA2. That would be my recommendation 2 anyone that needs 2 apply for one. My wife also changed her passport right around that time 2 her married name.

Really? I tell ppl to get it after NOA-2 date.

You say NOA-1 ? OK !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Only suggesting it based on personal experience :) The Malaysian police are notoriously slow in sending the letter of good conduct/police certificate. In my case, I applied for my letter of good conduct (LGC) almost right after NOA1, and got it just in time to submit it with the rest of the Packet 3 stuff (if I had wanted to continue with the process). Applying for the LGC right after NOA1 gave me a lot of peace! :)

it also depends on if the person is living in their home country

in some countries, such as comoros you cannot get your police clearance unless u apply in person in the country

so my SO was planning to go home so when he went, he also got his police clearance which was about a month after our NOA1
