I was wondering if there was anyone that new of some trusted money transfer companies so I can send money from the US to the UK and so my husband can send money to me as well..

I have used Western Union many times to send cash overseas to family.

I checked Western Union and my bank which is Bank of America and they were expensive. 45 bucks from my bank to transfer to him and for him to transfer to me 16... darnit!

Bank transfers are always very expensive. We use MoneyGram. Its 10 bucks per transaction regardless of the amount. 9 bucks if you give them your address and let them spam you with junk-mail.

Most (if not all?) CVS locations have a MoneyGram in their stores. Its a very simple and straightforward process.

Western Union by ffar the best option. Also, has more locations than MoneyGram. Bank wires are too expensive and wouldn't do it unless seding alot of money..

MoneyGram is flawless. I have never used Western Union, but I assume they are too. Never a problem sending $1 - $2000 with MoneyGram.

A much easier solution for the future is to send him an ATM card and he can just go to any local bank to get funds from your bank back here.

I am currently looking into a similar situation as well.

my research tells me it all depends on the amount you are sending. The lower the amount, you are better off with westernunion or moneygram.

If the amount gets higher then you are better off going with a bank.

This is because the money transfer services like WU and MG make their profit from the exchange rates. They have ####### exchange rates, but cheap service fees.

Banks on the other hand have reasonable exchange rates, with high fees.

I would just do the math and see which would be the better option.

We have a joint Bank account with ATM card.. but I dont know how that works at an atm over there.. What kind of fees we would be charged and all.

western union is by far the best option, my husband has been using them to send me money for over a year and its safe and on time everytime.

Western Union and Moneygram can be pretty expensive though. I just want to be able to show swapping of money as part of our evidence you know.

I believe unless you have a merchant account, paypal will limit you to $500 per month.

Oh ok I see. I gonna have a talk with Bank of America.. We have a joint account, but I want to know what fees they would charge for him to withdrawal and even deposit if possible from over there.

is it imperative to show financial support of my spouse at the interview?

i'm currently staying here with her and my child but once i leave to go back to the states i'm basically leaving money so i won't have to worry about this because the charges to send money is annoying as stated.
