Hello all!

I don't know if this is the right place to post this topic; but this concern about my passport's signature. I am married and have my married name in passport, want I wanted to know if is it possible to change my signature upon renewing my passport? Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

Of course it is. You will just need other official IDs with your new name and signature on it...otherwise, you should have a copy of your marriage certificate at all times.

N-400 Timeline

02-23-2018: Sent N-400 Application online

02-23-2018: Date on NOA, retrieved from online account

02-23-2018: Date on Biometrics Appointment Letter (Biometrics Appointment at Jacksonville ASC on March 13, 10:00 a.m.)

03-08-2018: Biometrics complete

04-05-2018: Case status updated - Interview Scheduled on May 10, 2018, 10:15 a.m. :D

05-10-2018: Citizenship Interview - Passed English and Civics Tests, Recommended for Approval! :D 

06-19-2018: Received email and text notification: Naturalization Ceremony Scheduled; waited for letter to be uploaded on online account - it has been set on Wednesday, July 25, 3:00 p.m.

07-25-2018: I am now a U.S. Citizen!

It is already my married name, what am really trying to say is the way i signed my name on my passport!

Hope I'm getting you right, perhaps you could clarify. Your signature must match the name on your passport. If it is different, best to change it. Hope I helped.

Well yes , they've match. We have our own signature right, and what i wanted to do is to change the way i type/sign my name...I can't think any further explanation but thanks anyway!

Why would you even waste a single thought on how your signature on your passport looks like? You want to change it? Order a new one and sign the application differently!

Your signature doesn't have to match your name at all. A signature is a mark that identifies you. It doesn't have to be a printed form of your name.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

Hi sweethome2011,

I know exactly what are you trying to asked. Just like me,I just wanted to change my signature into a more presentable one.But I am also wondering how? Like I wanted to update my signature on my passport,green card and SS card.So have you changed yours finally? How was the processing? Since it's been like 5 years since you posted your inquiries,hope you get your change of signature successfully. Please let me know coz I'm planning to update my signature too if possible.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
