Thank you again to all for who have posted kind wishes for my family. Unfortunately, I now regret having posted my quick random sincere thoughts of concern for all those who have waited longer than I for their approvals. This will be my last on this site for sure. I did not ask for an expedite or to be rudely judged or mocked by others. As a therapist myself, I see all kinds of people each day but admit to being surprised by such ugliness on a forum that is intended to support each other. I don't understand why. I do however appreciate all I have learned here from many of you and for the kindness of many. Have a good evening.

I am elated that mine was approved, just like you were. I think you just read it wrong. Have a good night.

I don't know. I read the sentence a couple of times. I'm pretty sure I got it right.

Our case was approved in 13 days. So I'm pretty sure I know how I feel about this issue.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

How you present your package has very little to no impact on how quicky it gets approved. USCIS takes it apart and reorganizes it to fit their system.

I would disagree with this. At least from the standpoint of having everything the Service needs and presenting it in a tidy fashion. I do think that's important insofar as getting a petition approval without an RFE.

Jenifer, my petition was approved in 93 days but from day 40 or so on I had a pretty good camaraderie with a few others who were like me waiting for their approval. I would look forward to posts from one friend who would post in the very early morning. I would tease her about obsessing so much. We would speculate on whether this would be the week or not. I had another friend who I would wait for in the evening. And several others that I would comment on their posts whenever I saw one. After I got my approval; none of the others got theirs. All of a sudden, I felt so guilty that I could no longer tease and joke with them. I sent a few personal messages and still keep in contact with them. Luckily, for the most part, they now have their approvals but it's like when you graduate from grade school you go to a different school than your friend; the friendship is not maintained as it once was.

One would think the author would know the intent of her own post. :o But perhaps I will wait for you to tell me how I feel next time. Hugs.

This has certainly been an interesting day on VJ for me. Both from the kindness of strangers such as yourself and the others who have taken their own time to congratulate us; as well as, the sad hatefulness of more than I would have expected. Nevertheless, Hazem and I are very grateful and excited to have completed this step of the process. Thank you again for your time. Best wishes, Jenifer

Don't let the comments from the few dissuade you from continued learning from the many here that are helpful. I know that it can be frustrating at times. Just block the rude comments out and focus on the positive ones. I wish you a continued happy journey whether you decide to stay or feel you must go. Good luck to you and your loved one.

John

Man oh man.

Here's how it goes, Jenifer. This shouldn't be a race. Every case is different. Some get petitions approved quickly; some more slowly. Same with NVC - cases go in and out at a different rate. Consulate - an entirely different ballgame.

In the world of visa issuance, NOA 2 (I-797) for the petition is really NOT a big deal. All a petitioner has to do is follow a few simple instructions and voila you have case approval. It's the immigration equivalent of "even a caveman" can do it. Consulate is where the relationship and the beneficiary will have to pass muster. That is the stage of visa issuance where case differences come into play.

So maybe I don't know how you feel. But I do know what it has been like to be a member of this community who got a quick NOA2. And it hasn't been easy. The ugly little green monster comes out in people when you've got something they want.

In fact, I stuck around this board a lot longer than most because I felt some sense of obligation to pass along what I had learned to those still "stuck". I only ever reared my head when I was attacked for getting a quick petition approval. As if I had any control over it. No more control over it than you had with yours.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

I am not saying to shove everything in an envelope and hope for the best. Of course a little organization is helpful and important. Having your documents in the same order as your cover letter, clearing marking where certain forms are located. However, spending time and money making them fancy or super duper organized is time and money wasted. They'll organize it so that all the petitions look and are organized in the same way. It won't get anybody approved any faster.

First, congrats!

Second, I'm wondering why anyone would expect anything less from a mostly-anonymous internet forum. Being hidden behind a computer screen tends to bring out the worst in people. It's easy to be a jerk when not dealing 'face-to-face' with people.
