What I take issue with is the perception that Israel is somehow the victim in the current situation. What happened to Jewish people in the past is beyond tragic and I don't in anyway condone violence against Jewish people (or any people for that matter). However, I do not think that in any way condones what the state of Isreal is doing today. In fact, I find it abhorent that they use the past and claim anti-semitism as a a means to reproach any criticisms of their policies - akin to using 9/11 to push political agendas by either political party.

I think even the most superficial examinations of what is happening in Israel/Palestinian reveals that Israel is not the victim, and there is a rather compelling argument to be made that the policies of Israel show just as a much of a desire to rid the area of Palestinians as the desire of Arab nations to see the riddance of Israel.

If Palestine can make the areas they do have productive and stop fighting themselves then you would have an arguement, however, they can't even run an effective government in the tiny area they do control.
