The Bill of Rights has never been changed. There is no legal procedure TO change it. The Bill of Rights ARE set in stone. The constitution was not ratified until they were added to assure those things COULD NOT be changed. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Changing the constitution is not the same as changing the Bill of Rights. Get a clue.

Besides, tell me WHO has suggested a constitutional amendment to restrict magazine capacity.

(The LOL icon may be an abuse of the first amendment in this case...I don't care)

I am a Godless true liberal. Pro choice on everything. Maybe I was never clear about that? Sorry, I never meant to be obtuse.

EXACTLY

The UK has a bill of rights that guarantees the right to bear arms but it has been eroded by surrounding restrictions

The American one will die by a thousand cuts too

Try buy a machine gun if you don't believe me

Try walk past the white House with an AK 47

The 2nd can be shrunk until it is meaningless and while it still exists

I have got more guns than the average American but I think buyers are not checked out enough. Gun nuts who wont give an inch will end up having a mile taken from them.

That is merely your opinion and is worth one, three hundred millionth of the available ones in just this country.

In order to make it stick, you have to be able to string a reasoned argument together which is what you people always fail to do

It therefore descends into a round of people digging dirt from last year etc and no new arguments emerge for the debate

That is why I know you are out of ammo and there is non on the way.

If you were laid in an Arizona hospital with a bullet through your brain, your statements could not be more vacuous or lacking in debating points to which I could respond

It's just a series of grunts

I do not need to assemble an argument to keep what is guaranteed to me. So I don't. YOU need to assemble an argument to take it away. Good luck with that. So far, you are losing badly. VJ doesn't matter but the Supreme Court does and you guys are 0 for 2. Soon to be 0 for 3.

OK another article says the BOR can be amended but most states have provisions in their state constitutions prohibiting the state legislatures from ever voting to approve a change to the bill of rights... thus making an amendment in the bill of rights impossible.

The UK doesn't have a written constitution, my intellectual superior, only a "de facto" one.

Parliament can change it any time they want simply by passing new Acts of Parliament.

You can buy a machine gun no problem. I used to own one. I sold it when I was offered enough to buy a new luxury car for it. M1928 Thompson SMG. It cost me $200 for federal registration. Big deal.

The 2nd will not be shrunk. It is being expanded. Have you not noticed?

I have more guns than you. :P I probably have more guns than you in my desk.

Of course if those states secede and restore slavery and repeal health care/civil rights/womens votes/medicare/medicaid and privatize social security - there wont be a problem for those who remain in the union

Some of those horrible states still ban non-believers from public office

They belong together outside the modern union

Many of the States' constitutions are themselves unconstitutional and they can and have been set aside

And monkeys could fly out of my @ss!

Seems like a lot of work to limit magazine capacity. And you expect me to respond with a logical argument to this nonsense?

When I was hanging round the singles bars I was used to slurp on one of those and take the other home

I would not be at all surprised at what flew out of any part of your anatomy or the way you express yourself

I was responding to the suggestion that nothing can change because of States' constitutions. That's reasonable isnt it.

Try and keep up with the points raised and the response.

I too do not believe the 2nd will be changed - but I do believe it will be bypassed in the way that hundreds of firearms restrictions are already in place despite the 2nd

Never question your intellectual superior. You don't want him to come out

with his intellectual guns blazing, do you?
