Any recommendations for reliable phone cards with clear connection?

I've just about given up on phone cards. Almost all of them now have hidden charges, add a tax to each call, and the connection is horrible!

I used to use Hello Asia which was AT&T, but they sold it to another company and quality is no longer there. Because most of these companies are overseas, they aren't regulated and so trying to find a reliable one is nearly impossible.

I've been going to SpeedyPin.com because supposedly they guarantee their cards....however, a couple of weeks ago, I called them to complain about a card and they never got back with me. Since then I bought another card from them but a different company and the connection quality sucks monkeyballz!

I use www.megaprepaid.com and www.callingcards.com

Due to surcharges the actual rates are like 0.12-0.20/min

IMO the call quality sucks on all of them so i usually get the cheapest i can find.

I found www.talkloop.com to be noisy (white noise).

Instead of him calling me (from US to Phil.) I call him using PLDT Budget Cards.. Originally, Its 8 pesos per Minute but they have an ongoing promo right now of 3 Pesos per minute. Thats 86.666 Minutes for $5.. so its very cheap.

I hope the promo will run for more months.. lol

We used onesuite. It can be set up as pin-less dial & you can pre-program the number ( and no, I am not affiliated with them).

I do not know if the rate is good enough for other country, but at least for Indonesia it is competitive.

good luck

What a great idea, where specifically do you buy these prepaid cards? That is a better rate than I have been able to find state side. I'm currently using onesuite at 18cents/min and tel3.com for 20cents/min and quality is often lacking.

Also, do you get that rate calling a cell or home line here in United States?

For those watching costs, I picked up a globe sim chip on my last visit and use chikka.com to text my wife's globe phone for free, and she just texts me back on my globe cell which is roaming. As long as I maintain 100p load it lasts for a month. You can also use chikka.com to send loads to globe and sun users.

I tried Nobelcom (www.nobelcom.com) and I don't recommend it. The connections were considerably worse than what I get with cards from the www.megaprepaid.com or www.callingcards.com web sites.

I also tried www.talkloop.com but their connections were noisy too.

I'm currently paying 13 to 19 cents per minute as far as I can tell. Don't be fooled by the advertised rates. They always add on a bunch of fees.

Please remember that they consulate may not accept evidence of the phone call if it is not from specific # to a specific # we just had a Member at HCMC asked at theinterview to prove his girl was actually using the cell phone that he was calling so if any of these phone cards do not provide an itimized list of the #'s called you are not getting all the evedence that you may be asked to provide. I switched to T3 and gorallla moble many months ago just so I can prove my cell phone made the call to her home phone/cell phone.

Best of Luck

Yeah, Same rate for calling both land lines and Cell phones in the US. Cards can be bought anywhere here in the Philippines.. Malls, Cell Phone card booths and/or PLDT Offices. The card is called PLDT BUDGET CARD

I use www.call-sierraleone.com no hidden charges whatsoever, $20 for 111 min....all of them !

Very cool customer service with live chat assistance and you can print out receipts.

Check the price for your country.

Another one but more expensive www.sendglobal.com with itemized calls to print out.
