Hi guys,

I've had so much help from all the members of visajourney who have replied to my posts in the past. So we're still waiting on our NOA2 which from what i hear is completely normal seeing as we only recieved our NOA1 at the end of october. We're getting all our forms ready now and one of them is our I-134 affidavit of support form which we have a co sponsor for. he has mailed us these forms and now i was just wondering if anyone knows of a link where i could check if his income is above the minimum requiremnts and all the rest of those details. or if anyone would know the figures off the top of their heads i could private mail you the figures we have.

thanks for the help as always :)

Income requirements are 125% column on this: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

Keep in mind, by the time interview happens, the consulate can ask for an updated I-134 especially after April 15, they can ask to see 2010 IRS return.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

thanks for the advice :) the figure for a family of two with 125% is 18,212 dollars. our sponsors annual income is 91,000 dollars. does this mean everything should go smoothly or am i missing something? thanks for the advice about updating the forms, we'll get right on that. we have a letter from his employer saying he will not be laid off and verifying the salary, do we still need IRS?

Based on the sponsors income, you will be fine. Though does the sponsor have anyone else living in their home?

From what you gave, the sponsor would be responsible for 3 people (you, fiancee, him/herself). If there is anyone else in the home such as children, wife etc add that to the "# of people count" to get an accurate amount needed by the sponsor.

A quick question based on the number of people that the sponsor is 'responsible' for.

Our co-sponsor (my mum) lives with my dad, making a household of 2. But because they will be co-sponsoring my fiance, does the income need to be above that for a household of 3?

And finally - both my fiance and I live abroad - so does that make the household 4? (mum, dad, fiance, me)?

Thanks,

Kristin

thanks for replying! i dont think my fiance will count as one of the numbers because he is an american citizen and will never need a sponsor to be in the states. our co sponsor has a wife so that would make the number 3. and 4 at max if you would count my USC fiance which i really dont think you would. but still im not 100 percent sure! even so, the figures for a family of four are 27,562 so we are still way above guidelines. now all im worried about is the fact that my fiance has nothing to put on his affidavit of support. neither of us have jobs, we are unemployed because there is such a huge recession in ireland and this is also the reason for us moving to the states. we are both highly qualified and i understand this proof of education may make things run a bit smoother? as proof that we will hopefully be obtaining good jobs in the states. his dad has 12,000 dollars saved for him in a savings account, i dont know if this helps or is irrelevant. thanks for your help

Joint would be responsible to count only 3 (Sponsor, their spouse, and intending immigrant) The don't count petitioner as member of their household.

hehe, yea the wait gets hard but just try to think about the outcome (I know its hard to do).

Not sure why I was touched twice, but whatever :P I'll take it. Probably logged in (touch 1) and then sent to storage (touch 2), who knows.

Hi, The sponsor's income is Great but the concern would be the taxes needed for April 2010. You have a 5 to 6 month wait for NOA2 and that puts you at the time frame to need to use 2010 tax info and dates closer to the interview date. Very happy you secured you co sponsor Good Luck :)
