I don't know why this sort of thing seems to happen with disturbing regularity in the US. You seem to think you have the answer because you aren't willing to look beyond your back yard. Not too convincing i'm afraid.

I didn't say anything about 'under the sway of demagogues ' - you made that up

The people I am talking about are the ones I talk to at my range. This is the same range that people say I have invented and I am delusional about. A fictional range that only exists in my mind. It seems to me that people are getting round the VJ rules. They don't use obscenities any more because it isn't allowed - they just accuse other posters of being mentally ill and delusional and that their lives are a fiction and a bunch of lies. A neat tactic.

Alright now the people at my range (which does exist) and is somewhere that I use a couple of times every week, are for the most part old and they are upset at the stream of anxiety that is injected into their lives by radio and TV. They are not dangerous or about to go on a rampage. I gave the example of the 80 some year old man who was trying to work a small Ruger pistol as he had been convinced that he needed one.

My point is that if millions of people are being scared and made anxious, then a small number of mentally ill people will become dangerous.

I ask people on here to do me the courtesy of not referring to me as delusional and inventing my rifle range and all these other allegations which are a nasty tactic to use in trying to get me devalued and get their point of view accepted. That stuff is yet another example of how ruthless people have become in trying to win their point.
