You lied about the number of police being killed. Why would it take 3 years to get an expert's classification? Problems with the concept of aiming? I had an expert rating after four matches. I was 14 years old shooting an M14 issued to me by my public high school. (selector switch disabled, SA only) So what?

Beck is a dork. An embarrassment. Yet to make something of an advertisement he is paid handsomely to READ, is nonsense. Pay me the money and I will read the ad. So what?

You must be referring to a post along time ago when I referred to the number of Police being killed here in Washington State. One sat in his car and FOUR at one sitting - and by another crazy that my proposal would disarm. It's disturbing to know people carry burning resentments about old posts - especially people with guns.

Explain why you feel vulnerable about mentally/emotionally unfit people being disarmed

Explain what a 'second amendment remedy' is in the context of our modern political lives in this country.

Explain what a 'second amendment remedy' is in the context of our modern political lives in this country.

So you are disturbed?

When did I say that mentally ill people should be armed? In fact it is already covered by existing laws. People who have been judged to be mentally ill cannot own firearms. People under restraining orders for real or threatened violence cannot own guns. I have no problems with this.

What is a 2nd amendment remedy? The 2nd amendment guarantees you right to keep and bear arms. That is all. What is it a "remedy" to? I mean, other than the government taking away your guns?

Please re-phrase the question.

A second amendment remedy is what the lady in Arizona was threatening... to the cheers of her supporters

The present law is totally inadequate as it only bans people AFTER they have committed a felony or have been judged mentally ill. It does not ban people like this shooter - and he should have been banned - he wasn't even allowed back to school without a psychiatrists report to say what was going on in his head !

It's like only putting people on a no fly list after they have attempted to down a plane.

In the UK for instance, a person who is always drunk and fighting and hanging out with criminals would not get a Firearm's Certificate. In the US, such a person would have no problem.

That needs to be changed.

I do not give a rat's @ss about the UK so you can stop using that argument.

You want to prevent people from owning a gun BEFORE they are determined to mentally ill? THAT I have a problem with.

A conviction of assault in the US would prevent you from owning a gun. Being drunk and fighting would get you an assault conviction. It is a felony. Felons cannot own guns. Drunk driving can be a felony and will prevent you from owning a gun.

The constitution of the US not only protects the second amendment, it does not allow "prior restraint" You cannot have your rightsd taken away until it has been determined by due process. I am not willing to trade that away.

If those are your ideas...they suck. They are unconstituional in this country and will never be implemented. Thank goodness.

Oh, and "Second Amendment Remedy" is nothing but a made up, meaningless idiom. Please do not ask me to make an explanation or defense of it. Try not to be silly. Homicide is illegal in all states.

Nativist and xenophobes should take notice of what happens around the world in all sorts of areas of life - they might learn something. If they despise foreigners and all things foreign then they will never advance. Anti-biotics is a British invention and I dont see the yanks turning their backs on that

There are plenty of outrageous people about who never had a felony conviction

There were people in Arizona last week who are not alive today and they had their rights taken away with the cosy complicity of those who defend the present system.

If there is plenty of evidence that a person is wild and unruly and a heavy drinker and hangs out with bad company etc etc and is barred from school pending a psychiatrist's report etc , they should not be allowed a gun even if they have not been convicted

To do otherwise shows a disregard for human life and puts one's precious guns above the lives of innocent people.

I know that is acceptable in the US despite many being christians in name only, but it shouldn't be

Plenty of evidence? Phone calls? Rumors? Notes passed in classrooms? Tweets maybe? Won't fly here. You don't have to like it, and that's the best part. I do not care who you bar from school or why. That is not an excuse to deny rights without due process. Our RIGHTS have been put above the lives of many innocent people and to suggest taking them away is the ultimate disrespect for them.

I am not a Christian.

I will step out of this now but I will be back to apportion a share of the blame - after the next shooting

It won't be long

It never is

I am enjoying my shooting hobby and it has been a life long interest, but the ease with which I got those guns is all wrong and that is my point and I have made it. American society has made it's choice and the blood will flow - not watering the tree of liberty - but 9 year old blood - into a supermarket gutter somewhere

I bet the little girl's father would throw his guns in the river if he could have her back but his fellow citizens vote something different so it will continue.

Our 2nd amendment rights come with a not insignificant price tag. Pray that you and your loved ones never have to pay as high a price as some did in Arizona!

All of our rights have a not insignifigant price tag.

People killed by murderers are not "paying a price" for our rights. It would be insulting to say so and I will never do that. They are victims of crimes. Is a rape victim paying a price for your right to have sex? Are the headless bodies in Mexico paying the price for your right to buy prescription drugs? Were people killed by Tim McVeigh paying the price for your right to rent a truck or buy fertilizer or diesel fuel? And what of the people in the World Trade Center? Paying a price for your right to fly in airplanes? NO! They were victims of criminals/terrorists (the distinction probably lost on them)

No. Can we please not be silly?

Yes, please, let's not be silly!!

Airplanes have a purpose and are used regularly for it that does not involve terrorism. Trucks and fertilizer likewise have a specific and widespread benefit for people. Ditto prescription drugs and sex!!

Guns have one principal purpose and that is to kill. Handguns and assault rifles are designed for the principal purpose of efficient and easy killing of humans! Any other product that was manufactured and resulted in so many deaths and injuries when used as designed would result in huge liability to the manufacturer. That guns are not treated this way should demonstrate to you the absurdity of your argument!!!

I do wonder why the US seems to lead the way in this sort of rampage shooting. It's a very strange phenomenon.

Free Speech?

At least we don't have suicide bombers running amok...

Random shooting once a year vs. living someplace without free speech?

Of course, we all have that choice...

Even the father of the little girl was brave enough to come out and say that it's the price of living in a free country. Now that's brave....

No free speech in UK? Hmmm Not where I live i'm afraid.

BTW it's more than once a year that you have these shootings. You have at least 3 major incidents a year nationwide. I'm just curious as to why that is. That's all ;)

Hollywood, rap music and video games.

It has nothing to do with guns. Nothing at all
