It's not equivalent because economic problems are not on the same scale as what Beck is selling. He sees secret signs carved into buildings to communicate with international conspirators and sells gun safes and gold and survival seeds.

That isn't equivalent to warning of economic dangers

IF you buy fire insurance in the off chance your house might catch fire, what would be wrong with some level of preparedness should a economic or natural disaster hit?

They equate a universal health system with a total extreme communist state and think that acts passed by a duly elected Congress are a full scale illegal Kenyan take over on behalf of Muslim Iran through their agent Obama. These people are retired Police officers etc and normally decent people - but they are scared out of their wits by listening to these people on the TV and radio

If someone like that can be so badly rattled, imagine the effects on some crazy who can buy a gun with no suitability checks at all

If 'obamacare' goes through in 2014, it will be done by Congress, duly elected and democratically elected representatives, and it will be a tiny pale shadow of anything that the UK, France, Germany, Holland etc has - and they are not normally referred to as 'totalitarian states'.

The poor old sods round here think they are months away from their families being dragged out and shot and themselves being sent to an Iranian labor camp. There was one at the range last week - he was in his eighties and nearly shot himself with a baby Ruger. He was worried sick of what was coming to his country. Never had a gun before in all his 80 some years - but now he NEEDS one.

I don't belong but have visited a Club which holds field trials for hound dogs..... typical gun club guys.

I have never even heard political talk going on, in fact there are a number of Black members and a Black judge.

This club I am talking about is "out there" in the country too, not like it's a bunch of "city folk".

So I am calling you BS on this gun club story of yours for two reasons.

-I doubt the environment is as you describe

You lied about the number of police being killed. Why would it take 3 years to get an expert's classification? Problems with the concept of aiming? I had an expert rating after four matches. I was 14 years old shooting an M14 issued to me by my public high school. (selector switch disabled, SA only) So what?

Beck is a dork. An embarrassment. Yet to make something of an advertisement he is paid handsomely to READ, is nonsense. Pay me the money and I will read the ad. So what?
