Either party petitioner or beneficiary can call them.

Both. Although I think when I tried, they initially wanted to speak to the petitioner until my wife had given them my details to verify them.

But after that, id speak to them no probs.

thats right, they want your date of birth, alien reg number, or case number, your name,and who are you, lawyer, spouse, beneficiary,before they talk to you,

As per my experience I tried calling NVC and they dint told me anything.

They want both the petitioner and beneficiary should be together when you call them up......

anyone can call.. i was the third party (coa) and i was able to call ofcourse. I have called on my aunt's case where i am not the third party, beneficiary, or petitioner they did ask to speak with her then i handled the rest of the transaction.
