I'm trying to get certified copies of my divorce decree ready for the CR-1. I also might be requested to send them to USCIS for the I-130 petition. The court house in the U.S. requires a return postage paid envelope so they can mail the documents back to me. The problem is that I'm in Indonesia and there is no USPS office here. The FEDEX store here was useless. They demanded that my wife open an account and then they called and rejected her because she doesn't have a tax number. ?? So basically this FEDEX is refusing to provide a prepaid envelope to my recipient that I'm mailing it to. I am looking into printing out labels for postage online but I'm really unsure if that will work.

I would like to also have an easier way for my mom to send me documents without the hassle.

Can anyone give me some tips getting mail sent back to me prepaid by me?

Do you have a friend or family member in the USA who could provide stamps?

I used to buy International Stamp Vouchers at the local post offices in Europe to send abroad when stamped envelopes were needed, check with your local biggest post office if they have them?

No I don't have anyone to get stamps there but I will keep looking. I'm not sure if I can order stamps and have them shipped to her.

International Stamp Vouchers might work but I'm not sure how to calculate the postage. Thanks I'll try looking into that. I'm guessing to send 10 pages of documents to be under 2 pounds.

I'M NOT SURE BUT YOU SAID YOU WERE JUST MARRIED.

You cant file a DCF unless your married longer than 2 years than if you were

you would file a IR-1 for being married longer than 2 years and than file A DCF.

Some US Embassy's dont except or do DCF around the world.

I suggest you do a CR-1 and submit your I-130 ASAP to get your case going it's about

5 to 8 month before you get approval. Check with the US Embassy in the country of

your spouse and ask them first.

That is completely incorrect. You can file DCF the day you are married, as soon as you have the marriage cert. In most countries (all other than India, going by VJers experience), the USC needs to be legally resident in the country for a minimum of 6 months though. This can be before or after marriage.

ok - i'm officially confused -

you were supposed to include a regular photocopy of the CERTIFIED divorce decree, with the I-130 submittal.

---

Going Forward, you can file DCF I-130 with USEmbassy-Jakarta 6 months after yer arrival date.

I have been here more than six months and I do qualify to file DCF. We will be going for the CR-1 which is the conditional green card issued to alien spouses that have not been married more than 2 years. Am I right?

I spent hours researching document delivery options. I ended up visiting the state website to get my divorce decree and from there I was directed to www.vitelchek.com They can get certified documents like divorce decrees and mail them to you at any address worldwide charged to a credit card.

I decided to use the U.S. postal system for mailing documents from my mom. Here's how. I set up an account and linked my credit card.

I ordered free supplies like 10 Express Mail International Flat Rate Envelopes, with label forms, with customs forms, then large denomination stamps with face values of $5.00 (not free) and had them all delivered to my address which is her address also. By using the flat rate envelope I will know the exact postage each time of $29.95. So six $5 stamps will work. After she receives this I can call her and ask her to send me a document and fill out the forms, put six stamps on and then I'll call to have it picked up a day in advance, and she doesn't have to leave the house.
