Hello,.. I'm writing because my wife, who is a filipina, and I just found out that we will be having twins in July or August... We already have a 2 year old and we think with the twins it will be very difficult for a few years. We would like to bring over my wife's sister for two years or so to help with taking care of the children. Does anybody have any advice on what visa would allow her to come to the USA within the next 6-8 months? Would it be possible for me (US citizen) to petition her to expedite the process? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

WIFE PETITION FOR THE SISTER TAKES 15 YEARS FOR PI

THE USC CANNOT PETITION FOR SISTER-IN LAW

SISTER IN LAW CAN TRY FOR A TOURIST VISA, AND THAT HAS THE SAME CHANCE AS WINNING THE SCRATCH-OFF LOTTERY.

IF SIL DID GET VISTOR VISA SHE WOULD ONLY BE ABLE TO STAY A MAX OF 6 MONTHS PER VISIT.

Visitors visa would not allow the sister in law to work ( baby sit ) there is no work visa for domestic labor ( too many people here can do it ) Your wife needs to be a USC and then petition and it takes over 20 years for a visa number to be available by which time she maybe able to babysit your grand kids.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Visitor visa is the route to go.

But they will only grant it for 6 months max.

Since you both want her here for 2 years, she will have to extend it before it expires or apply for a new one abroad.

As others have said, you cannot petition your sister-in-law. Your wife has to be a US Citizen to petition her siblings or parents. Applying for the tourist visa for purposes of using the alien to do domestic work for you or anybody is fraudulent. USCIS have become stricter than ever for tourist visa (B2) applicants from the Philippines because there have been a huge number of tourist visa holders who never went back to PI even after their visa expired. It will be very hard for your sister-in-law to demonstrate that she's only coming here to visit and go home as required by law. Sorry, but you just have to use local labor for your child care needs.

Firstly the Permanent resident has to naturalize and become a US Citizen, only after that can a petition be filed for a Sibling F-4 priority visa which for PI is taking upwards of 15+ years.
