birth certificate translation

Hello, my Colombian wife has her birth certificate, however, it is in Spanish and thus needs to be translated. How should the translated birth certificate be transcribed? On a plain sheet of paper? Thanks!

Simply find someone conversant in both languages, like a friend or relative have them translate and certify that they are conversant in both languages.

Please submit certified translations for all foreign language documents. The translator must certify that s/he is competent to translate and that the translation is accurate.

The certification format should include the certifier's name, signature, address, and date of certification. A suggested format is:

We are preparing for the AOS interview on January 20th. It says that for documents in a foreign language (such as birth certificates, divorce decree, etc.) certified translation should be provided. When we applied for AOS, we obviously obtained these translations (with the signature of the translator) - but I sent them along with AOS application. Now I only have copies of the actual translations - does anybody know if it is sufficient, or if I have to prepare another set of translations, with the actual signature on them?

Sounds like you got it backward, you send copies to USCIS and keep the originals, then bring origionals to interview if they want to compare with copy. Only provide them originals if requested. I would bring the copies to interview.
