My wife had her citizenship interview over 6 weeks ago. She had checked the box on her N-400 to allow a name change. We made an Info Pass appointment and were told USCIS had sent the application for a name change to a federal judge and that we just had to wait until it came back. They cannot tell us how long it will take nor can we change the N-400 at this point. Just passing this information along.

Always thought you had to appear in person before a judge for a name change, could be wrong, correct me.

Expedient service is easy with Venezuela judges, just give them some money, like 1,000-2,000 US bucks. They even make it easy by having a Miami bank account, can do that in seconds with a money transfer. Referring to just strictly legal above the board kind of stuff, haven't tried anything below board yet and probably never will. Call it an expedient fee because if you don't pay it can wait for years.

USCIS has some expedient forms, but nothing to do with bringing a loved one here, even the DOS has an expedient service you pay extra for, money talks. With the USCIS, if you are a big corporation wanting to hire somebody, then you can pay for expedient service. Ha, asked my attorney about this, said no way with a loved one, but would help if my brother-in-law worked for USCIS. With elected officials, has a different name, called contributing to his/hers election campaign, that also works extremely well to get some "legal" action done. Otherwise, you just wait, wait, and wait some more.

Now if you are a billionaire, the president himself will greet you and even give you diplomatic immunity.

Shouldn't be this way, but that is the way it is.
