IF you have never been inside an Orthodox church, it might be interesting. (or not)

I was the "crown holding guy" at a friends ceremony and Alla held the crown for his wife. It was an old lifelong friend of Alla's. Interesting but it is difficult to hold the crown there all that time. I think they would be just as married without that.

I love the Orthodox churches. Very ornate and beautiful architechture.

Not sure about Russia, but Ukraine does not accept religious weddings, so we went to ZAGS first for a civil ceremony. The church required the civil ceremony be held first. They do not want you going to someone else after the church to "get married" As long as church and government mutually ignore each other, it seems to work well.
