hello to all vj members!

It took 5 looong months of waiting for the NOA2 but thanks to all vj members for the help and guidelines, we didnt get any RFE. We got approved Dec 22 but we got the email Dec 31st maybe because of the holiday. My fiance called NVC yesterday and was given the MNL case number over the phone. Now my question is, what do i need to pay the K1 visa at BPI? I understand it has to be paid first before we can set up an interview. And just to clear, is it online appointment or calling the embassy is better when scheduling the interview? Any input would be much appreciated. thanks thanks to all!!

Thank you for letting us know. Please-please, also give us the date of your NOA1 - this info would be so helpful for us, still waiting for NOA2. Sorry, can't help with your actual question, hope someone else on this forum will. Best of luck - may 2011 be the year your dreams come true.

09-20-10 NOA1

04-06-11 NOA2

04-12-11 Received in NVC

04-14-11 Left NVC

04-25-11 I emailed the embassy

04-27-11 Embassy responded with interview date (06-23-11)

I had to bring the letter from the Embassy to pay, because they attached the payslip to that paper. I am not sure how others did it but I was told by the BPI people that I needed my passport and letter. :) Congrats!! :)

And I was able to schedule online with no problem, I even scheduled it the same day I paid :) But now I think you are asked to wait until the payment is cleared. Once the system is updated that you have paid, you can schedule.. even if you call by phone, they will still schedule you using the online system. they will just do it for you. better to do it yourself :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

it should come right away probably 1-2 weeks after nvc.. :) why don't you call BPI tomorrow to confirm what they need.. when I paid it was only their first week of operation so they were still confused and they asked for my embassy letter.. maybe they don't need it anymore ^.^

We received the letter authorizing us to schedule the interview the day AFTER our interview. The letters are unreliable, for some that do not come at all.

BPI asked if she had a letter from the Embassy, she didn't have that. She just gave them a copy of the Bio page of her passport and the data sheet I typed up with our names , passport numbers and MNL number) that was all that was needed for that, They did not need anything official with the MNL number on it. oh, they did ask to see her passport.

You will get a deposit receipt THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT. DO NOT LOSE IT!

After you pay BPI you will have all the info you need to schedule your appointment.
