Hi,

It wouldn't matter. I had my passport renewed during noa1 to noa2, and we called USCIS and they said all we had to do is send them a photocopy of my new biographical page. By the time I got my new passport I already had the noa2 and so I didn't need to send them a copy. The US Embassy worried that USCIS forwarded them my old passport copy and I have a new one, and they also said it doesn't matter since they just had my case number, not a copy of my passport. it will be a problem, however, if your passport isnt valid so i think its better to change it now than later on..

I meant to say *I called the US Embassy* sorry

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

From US Embassy-London:

Passports: A Passport must be valid for travel to the United States and must have at least eight months validity beyond the issuance date of the visa. Children may be included on a parent's passport, but if over the age of 16, they must have their photographs attached to the passport.

You should get it now because they won't approve your visa with a passport expiring in June, even if you got NOA2 today.

This is your London Packet 3 instructions and forms

And this is your list of things to bring to the interview.

Why do you need to inform the USCIS... Was a copy of your passport required as evidence in the petition?

YMMV

Hmmm.. I do recall that in the k1 packet we had to send a copy of the bio page of the passport..

Really? Better check again....because I doubt it is listed anywhere as required evidence for the alien fiance(e)
