Hi everybody,

I think everything has gone relatively quick, we filed Nov 1st and already gotten the fingerprints taken and have the interview schedule for Jan 18th.

There are a couple of things though that I find weird, not sure if its normal? just wanted to ask:

* our files haven't been touched since mid november (before the biometrics).

* haven't received (nor been approved for) EAD or AP and interview is in 10 days.

I'm just wondering... is this normal? or that this mean "we are going to deny your request, that why we don't even bother with looking at your files again or issuing a EAD" ahhaha maybe im just being paranoid, but well i just wanted to know if this is normal?

Also anybody has typical questions they ask you? We should be fine, we have a real relationship but my husband has horrible memory. Im afraid they're gonna ask something like "what was the last movie you saw together" or "what did your wife cook 2 days ago" and between nervousness and bad memory I bet he'll say something silly hahaha, he says it himself! So well just wondering if anybody can give us tips from recent interviews, especially if yours was in portland maine!

Thank you!

Wow thats was quick hey. Filing 1st November and got your interview date already mmm but no EAD and AP. We filed 29th October and had bio done 22 dec as I could not make my appointment 19th November and I had been waiting for a new letter appointment so we did a walk in 22nd December and I have my EAD and AP all arrived last week. But my case has been transferred to CSC too so hopefully someone can give you some info on why you have not received your EAD or AP yet. Good luck though with your interview let us know how you go ok.

I wouldn't sweat it at all. My wife didn't get approval her AP or EAD until 3-4 weeks AFTER we received the interview letter (see our timeline below). We got the AP 3 days before and the EAD 3 days after the interview. Since we were approved, neither of them were relevant. I was a little bit paranoid, like you, but it was entirely unfounded.

You can see my interview review here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=70421

My wife and I quizzed each other on questions like what's in our house, what we had for dinner/lunch/breakfast, etc., but none of that came up. The only "real" questions we were asked was how we met and where/when we got married.

Good luck!

AJ

Forgot to mention that on the USCIS site the status of the I-485 still says ACCEPTANCE, the other ones (I-130, I-751 and I-131) INITIAL REVIEW.

Has anyone had still just acceptance so close to the interview? I figured by now it would had move to initial review at least... :S

ok, I know, I'm just being paranoid... I guess I'm just anxious and nervous.

Thanks for sharing your experience with me :)

The circles are horribly unreliable. You should be happy that you got an interview date. Hopefully you will be approved at interview and that will be that. Over in what, 2.5 months? That's incredible speed.

The interview and the EAD and AP are on separate timelines. The EAD and AP are processed at the National Benefits Center, and your interview is adjudicated at your local office. EAD and AP are routinely approved whenever they get to the front of the line. Because your local office has openings, you were scheduled an interview quickly. Your EAD and AP won't be pulled out of line because of that; they will sit in line and wait their turn.

Don't rely on the circles; they have no brains. It doesn't mean anything at all.

The vast majority of people are really satisfied with their interviews. Most reviews are about feeling calm, but the IO being thorough but polite. They generally don't start quizzing you unless there is some problem with your case. There is no way to prepare for that type of questioning anyway.

Relax!! /does the relax dance

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Thanks for your reply! I guess Im just freaking out because everything its been so fast and smooth and Im just scared it might be a bad thing rather than a good one. Oh well I guess I just have to wait another week or so and then we'll see, hopefully I get approved right away! :)
