Sweating possible RFE

Hello!

Just sent our I-129f package earlier this week, only to wake up this morning & realize we may have made a mistake.

My fiancee did a J-1 1-Year work visa in US, & was issued a SSN at this time. In our package we included copies of each of our W-2 tax forms, from this same place we were both employed (her as an international intern, me as a regular job). Her W-2 shows her SSN.

We messed up by not putting this SSN for her, that was issued, on her G-325a. We put "None." We unfortunately assumed she didn't have one, as she's a French citizen. (Didn't think the "temporary" one "counted")

We realize, this is a mistake, after having read, where since she was given one, it's hers, for life.

My question is, how badly will this delay our process? Does anyone have any insight into whether this will inevitably result in a RFE, etc?

Just looking for a little peace of mind...

Many thanks!!

Are you sure it is a SSN and not just a Tax ID number. I am not sure how she got a SSN if she never applied for one.

Good Luck

I'll have to ask her asap, if she applied, or if it was issued as a Tax ID number...? Either way, on her W-2, in the spot for SSN, there is a number listed. (mirroring a SSN in digits)

She told me she has a little blue card, & it's written on it "valid for work only with dhs authorization."

I'll provide more details regarding if she applied, asap.

Thanks for any input!

That's a social security card and number. This information was also asked for in the I-129F itself. I wouldn't worry about the oversight. Just be accurate on the later forms.

Awesome, thank you for the insight.

So, I shouldn't be too paranoid about a possible RFE, or anything of that nature?

Just to have an idea...

Thank you!!!

After spending 3 days reading through the RFE Discussion thread, if this is the only thing you get an RFE for, your case should not face significant delays. Some posters have reported minor errors on forms that are never caught. All you can do is wait and see, and deal with any further paperwork as it comes.

April, 2009 - We met

May, 2009 - We wooed

June, 2010 - We got engaged, looking forward to a small August 2010 wedding

** Reality Check: K-1 Process**

July 22, 2010 - NOA1

**5 months of patient waiting**

December 29, 2011 - call around for information about delay

January 5, 2011 - RFE notice (first online status update yet!)

January 10, 2011 - RFE Hardcopy

January 13, 2011 - RFE Response acknowledged

January 24, 2011 - NOA2 (at last!!)

February 3, 2011 - application sent from NVC to Montreal (aka. the Abyss?)

March 7, 2011 - Packet 3 sent to me

March 10, 2011 - Packet 3 delivered to Montreal

March 21, 2011 - Packet 4 sent to me

April 5, 2011 - Medical

April 13, 2011 - Interview - approved!

April 20, 2011 - visa in hand

May 9, 2011 - POE (Buffalo, NY)

May 10, 2011 - wedding :)

Hey! Thanks for the response!

Yeah the RFE discussion thread, is considerably helpful. Though our situation is quite specific; I'm really hoping (obviously) that it won't result in a delay of any kind.

Thanks for the encouragement, any little bit helps!
