What does propagation of Islam mean? Does it mean that we are to attack even those non-Muslims which don't do anything against Islam just because we have to propagate Islam?

You should understand that we as Muslims firmly believe that the person who doesn't believe in Allah as he is required to, is a disbeliever who would be doomed to Hell eternally. Thus one of the primary responsibilities of the Muslim ruler is to spread Islam throughout the world, thus saving people from eternal damnation.

Like I mentioned in the other thread, do you not see the millions of people who have died in Africa from the violence over there. From the children who get recruited and carry around machine guns. Children who then become the leaders after only a few years and raid villages... It happens. Stop being so damn blind and think that this ONE congresswoman being shot and the others who died is "really" a big deal.

We are damn lucky to live in the 3rd most populous nation in the world and not have half the ###### that goes on in many other countries out there. With the amount of people we have living here, we are lucky to have the unity we have, no matter how fragile it may be. So when a few bad apples pop up in a population of 310 million, I'm not so worried about it.

I'm simply pointing out that what happened isn't news other than the fact that 'this time' it was an elected official. What happened in Fort Hood was bigger than this....

Did you not read where I said it sucks about the 9-year old? Sure it sucks when people lose a family member, but the rest of society doesn't need to give a damn about it.

Look what we do. Personal friends and family go to funerals. We buy our own funeral plots. We don't look to our neighbor in the next city to worry about that. Hell, they don't even know if we've died. Whether we've been shot, killed, etc... They don't know and frankly they don't care. Why should they care? They didn't know us.....

Just because it's in the news, doesn't mean it matters any more than what it is... It's another person, shooting another person, which happens each and every day in this country.

Personally I find it quite bizarre that someone would think that a public official being assassinated had it coming to them because of their stand on issues, but that's me. Thankfully for society, most people don't think that way.
