Happy New Year, Everyone!

In a few weeks my husband and I will be sending in our petition to remove conditions form (751). We moved between the time my husband received his conditional green card and now. We filled out the change of address form online, but now I'm wondering if there's any way to verify that the correct address is in the system. I'd hate for any of our filing for removal of conditions to be delayed because of this. Similarly, I know that in the guide for removal of conditions on the VJ site it says very clearly that USCIS does not send out reminder notices, yet we have friends who claim that they received a notice reminding them to file for the removal of conditions. This further adds to my worry that our address has not been changed in the USCIS computers. Any way to verify? Stories welcome. Thanks a lot.

This is not a K-1 visa question, moving to removal of conditions forum...

Change of address involves filing an AR-11 AND an I-865, AR-11 is for LPR address change, I-865 is for sponsor's change of address.

If you spouse/sponsor failed to file the I-865, do it now.

No need to confirm new address, simply use new address on the I-751 form when removing conditions.

AR-11 has an online option, I-865 does not.

US citizen/ spouse sponsor needs to mail it.

Hello!

My husband and I filed both our forms a year and a half ago for address change. I receieved my receipt, and we have been told several times that they do not issue a receipt for AR11....the online print out of the confirmtion is all there is. The only way to verify is to get an infopass appointment and go to your local field office. Thank goodness we kept our's because last week we received mail that was originally sent to our old address. :bonk: We went to our local field office, and they told us, "we don't know what to tell you because your current address is in our system"... We wanted reassurance that the biometrics, etc would be received at our current address. He said that if we put the new address on the 751 then there "shouldn't" be a problem. Ya know, it's really aggrevating...to try to make sure everything is done correctly and then get brushed off. Soooo we have our fingers crossed!!!

I wonder if anyone else here went throught this??

If you figure out the answer to your question, please let me know. The whole change of address thing has cost us money and whole lot of time and worry.

Hi,

I was just curious what you went through with the address change. If you see the post I just made, we ran into some problems, and don't know what to expect ahead. In the end, any error that is made will be the USCIS's responsibility, we have our receipts, but like you said, time and money....

Thanks

Just quick questions,

What ever address you put on your I-751 form will be the address that the USCIS will send you their notices? or from the address you have recently updated in USCIS site?

They will send to the MAILING address on the I-751. Note form has places for two address, your physical address, and your mailing address, also not the C/O line, this is so that if you do not live at the mailing address and someone else does, like a parent, the package can be signed for by the person at the mailing address.

I can confirm that the NOA will be sent to the address you put on the I-751 form without any special verifying or attaching confirmation receipts of the change.

We moved over a year ago and did the change of address for each of us.

The ROC reminder was delivered to the people who bought our old house (in another town).

We filed I-751 using our current address with no notes regarding the mis-delivered reminder.

NOA arrived yesterday at our current address.

As with every step in this process, they are dealing with the form in hand and not going backward to your old files. Get your information correct on the forms for the current application and all will go well.

we did a change of address as well while I was doing the two yr GC and all their notices were sent it to our previous address. Then we moved again, and our reminder for the 10 yr gc application was sent to the latest old address. There is no way of confirming if they have updated their system, tried calling them but wouldn't entertain the call nor verify address if there's no pending application. It sucks!!! if only we can highlight the address in the I-751 application and place a sticky note saying "THIS IS THE CURRENT ADDRESS". Fingers crossed!!!
