Administratively closed, but still mentioned in the govt website? Sounds fishy to me... hahahaa- are we really that short on cash that we are tricking our own ppl for some extra dough?

Excuse me, not that I dont believe you, but where can I look to for evidence that it has been "administratively closed"? Id like to read into that if I may.

Be my guest. http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2993.html#4

Scroll down to second step and read the important notice.

The person who said "K3 was administratively closed...." was not entirely accurate. An accurate statement would be that NVC WILL administratively close your I-129F petition when they receive it, effectively killing all chance of actually obtaining the visa. The "Government" has more than one website. USCIS doesn't issue visas. The Department of State does. NVC is Dept. of State. They trump anything USCIS says.

Based on your statement and what is written on the govt website, it entails that the I-129F never gets approved before the I-130, hence the impossibility of obtaining a K-3 visa. I have also read the reason for this, its that the I-130 processing has become increasingly fast such that it takes just about the same time as a I-129F to approve. Any reading to support that the I-129F never gets approved before the I-130? Maybe records of the number of K-3 visas issued in the last year or something?

OK. Ready for the kicker? I just spoke to someone today that was able to get a K-3 for his wife from Indonesia. Dun dun dun!! Here is the premise: The husband works for the US airforce and was supposedly able to get an "expedited process" for his wife. (His words) The whole process from start of visa to interview took 6 months. After which point the wife came to the states and applied for a green card. This happenned about 2 years ago. I spoke to both him & his wife about it. I dont mean to discredit anyone, Im just supplying info. I wonder if anyone else knows of someone that has obtained a K-3 (relatively) recently?

You asked a present tense question. Arguments using evidence of what was in the past tense don't have any bearing on the circumstances today.

My wife came on a K3 visa as well. You haven't been reading carefully. Two years ago is not now and is BEFORE February 1st, 2010. There have been many K3 visas issued since February 1, 2010 as well but the the vast majority were to folks whose cases cleared NVC before the change.
