I've said this before in other threads. The only way to truly send a message is for innocent people to die. You want to really make people angry, you hurt those who feel they have done nothing wrong.

Our government especially, is a product of us. Therefore we are responsible for its actions. Is this not the liberal philosophy that is preached each and every day with regards to how we all need to pay more taxes? How it's our responsibility? The road works both ways. It's us who pay for he evils committed by our government, whether we support those evils or not. That is how the world works. That is how the world has always worked. The only difference comes when a people raise up against their own government. That's a different situation entirely though.

3,000 people? Realy? Boo effing hoo.... More people die in car accidents every year and by a multitude of diseases. Like I said though, that number is also a microscopic one compared to the millions who die every year not in this country. Look at the turmoil south of the border. Our neighbor, our alleged ally in Mexico is having thousands of people killed down there. Do we care? Hell no we don't. We're too busy fighting in the middle east. We're too busy worrying more about things that don't really matter at the end of the day. We're LUCKY it was only 3,000 people that died in those buildings, VERY LUCKY.

Paul, how can I put this. You aren't the voice of the nation... Plenty of people do care about those things. They (and you) just happen to be lucky that you live in a country where life for the vast majority of people doesn't hang by a thread or the whims of madmen. That is what allows you make pedestrian statements about the misery of others.

So Boo-hoo for 9/11 eh? If your family were in those towers when they went down - I doubt you'd be so cavalier about it.

Nothing that the US government has done merits the wilful murder of people going about their daily lives. If you want to play that game - you might as well join Al Qaeda, as their English-language spokesman in US.

Trying real hard to understand the logic here. Sticking to the original post... these women live in the pro-government area of the country. So, they are paying for the evils of their government? And, according to you, the only way to send a real message is for innocent people to die. So, these women didn't even really get the message? Wow, they were also VERY LUCKY. Or do your rules only apply to the USA.

And clear this up for me. Apparently 3,000 normal citizens died because of what our gov't did. And, in your eyes, we deserved it. So, be specific... what actions by our government make it alright to attack civilians?

Sorry but "deserved" is not the right word.

I'm not trying to minimalize terrorist acts, aj, although it seems to the norm to take it that way. that's a shame because there is great resistance on this board to any attempt to provide balance, perspective and context to the constant barrage of negativism about Islam and Muslim in light of a transparent agenda to paint both as unyieldingly evil. If that is viewed as minimalizing in the face of overwrought hyperbole, so be it.

Terrorism by fundamentalist Muslim groups is political. It is a means of waging war against a political enemy. When you try to draw an equivalence between that and Catholic pedophilia, it does seem like you're trying to minimize the political threat that Islamic terrorist pose.

I don't know how I would react if I ever found that my words echoed the words of bin Laden. I know that I would have to seriously reconsider what I was saying and thinking.

*gasp* just because it's said by a guy that everyone loathes for one reason or another, doesn't mean the words are invalid.

People make the mistake of attributing words they don't ilke with people they don't like and automatically make them invalid in their heads. They don't stop to actually "think."

I know the poor little bleeding heart Americans don't get it. I know it's hard to understand why to prove a political point, that innocent people must die, but think of it like this.... - You want us out of the middle east? Then only vote for candidates who want us out of the middle east as well. So long as our government continues to wage war overseas and we elect people that support this, then we deserve every last thing we have coming.

This has nothing to do with my family or your family. It's much bigger than something as simplestic and narcissistic like that. It's about us as a nation, who we are, what we represent in the world. Just as we kill many innocent people over there. Do you realize how many American citizens would have to be killed to make up for the innocents who have been killed over there by our own military? You wouldn't like it, now would you?

We live in such a great place in the world, where we are surrounded by 2 ally nations on our north and south and then on our east and west we are completely surrounded by water. The only nation that has it better is Australia as they are their own continent and a singular country. If we weren't so embeded in the middle east thanks to corporate and military interests, then we could feel a lot 'safer' as a nation and nothing like this would be 'deserved.'

Okay..now be specific. What action did we do to cause 9/11? I want to know what you're thinking. What can a country do so that you think it's fine to just go kill some civilians?

Apparently not only is Paul willing to justify atrocities he is willing to relativise them as well.

Hell let's run with this. Clearly those people in the FBI building in Oklahoma City deserved to be blown up - because Tim McVeigh blamed the Feds for the outcome of the Waco Siege.

Perhaps the Virginia Tech shooter was justified in massacring his teachers and fellow students because noone befriended him or would have sex with him.

Maybe the dude who went kill crazy at the Federal Court House in Las Vegas was justified in his actions because he lost a lawsuit against the social security administration.

Oh and obviously the dude who flew his plane into the IRS building was totally justified there - he'd had enough of those evil money-grabbing tax collectors and wasn't going to take anymore!

It's really very simple. If you have a political or personal motive and feel that your problems are the fault of others, in Paul's view you have a legitimate case to kill people and commit mayhem.

McVeigh didn't do this on his own and this is probably one of the biggest False Flags in our history.

stretch much?

Arguable circumstances depending on why they really did it.... People like this are annoying because they are attacking measly people in government. If you want to hurt government officials, you need to go after its leadership.

Apparently you haven't read this thread. I never blamed 'personal' problems for the attacks on the US. I blamed our own actions.

Follow the train of thought to its conclusion Paul. You are saying that the actions of the US government overseas justifies terrorists committing acts of violence based on political and personal motives arising from those actions.

You are justifying the actions of terrorists. At the very least you are an apologist.
