I-130 approved, yet no hard copy received.

My I-130 was approved on December 29. I checked online. Yet, I have not received a hard copy of NOA2 yet, and when I called the USCIS toll free number they told me that I had to wait 30 days before I could do anything about it. Since I have my NOA1 with the receipt number on it, is it possible to proceed with the NVC without the hard copy of NOA2 in my hands? If so, how do I contact them?

It took me about 6 days to receive my NOA2 hard copy in the mail. But if yours takes longer, no worries--you CAN proceed with NVC without it. Just call them up (NVC)(I'm at work, I don't have my phone, so hopefully someone can add that) and type your USCIS case number into the automated system, or give it to an operator to see if your case is in their system yet. Follow the guides to go from there!

Congratulations, and good luck!!!

yup - can start bugging NVC (if you want to) but I claim to wait 2 weeks from NOA-2 approval date -

see http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221785-ds-3032-slowdown/page__view__findpost__p__3560467

for my mini how-to .

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Yes! Don't wait! Call the NVC at 603-334-0700...use the automated system. There is an option that will allow you to enter your "CIS Receipt number"...this is the number on your NOA1. If the NVC has your case, which I bet they do if you were approved on 12/29, the system will then tell you your new NVC case #. If so, call back and this time choose to talk to an operator. Give the operator your email address to speed up future communication, then ask the operator if an IIN number has been generated yet. If so, you can go to their website and pay your first bill (AOS fee) immediately and also submit the DS-3032. My i-130 was approved on 12/21 and I too did not receive any notification, yet I was able to confirm that the NVC had my case, submit my email address, submit the DS-3032, get my IIN number, pay the AOS fee online and submit my AOS all before the actual NOA2 showed up in the mail, literally saving me weeks...if you haven't already done so, please read the LingChe NVC shortcuts document under the NVC Wiki on this site...it is invaluable!

You can track your case online at the USCIS website by putting in the receipt number from your NOA-1. That is how I knew.

The NOA2 hard copy arrived today, though. Horray...but the NVC still has no record of it, on their automated system.
